http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1130?vs=1044 There are some of the compute benchmarks that the 260x loses but it wins the majority, with over 2x the performance in some cases. The same is true for the 750 Ti vs R7 265. | ||

I'd like to start off by thanking you. About 3 years ago SkyR and others helped me build my current system, which now needs an upgrade. So thanks for your help then and hopefully you can help me now Current setup HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB WD5000AAKX GPU: MSI Radeon HD6850 Cyclone Power Edition OC CPU: Intel Core i5 2400 RAM: Kingston ValueRAM KVR1333D3N9K2/4G 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 Motherboard: ASRock H61M/U3S3 Motherboard B3 Power Supply: Antec Neo Eco 520C 520W Power Supply Case: CoolerMaster Centurion 5 II Black Budget? $300-$500 Monitor? 1920*1080 Why upgrade? Temperamental graphics card, sometimes won't initialize on computer start. Computer 2.5 years old. I want to run Path of Exile smoother and on higher settings. Games? Then again, are those three games not CPU bound? I didn't play much POE but i remember having like 150fps with little gpu load i think. Not sure exactly how weak the 6850 is for CSGO/WoW | ||

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1077?vs=1038 You >could< make CPU upgrade to Haswell, but i'd say it's only worth with a 4670k+ overclock, or maybe even just a 4670 - that way you're clocked at like 3.7ghz instead of 3.1ghz when the CPU is loaded (4440 has lower base clock turbo's) ^It's probably not worth CPU upgrade before GPU, though. I wouldn't say it's not worth upgrading on $500, but if you split budget for the CPU to go for i5 4440, you could end up with barely upgrading on that front while cutting into GPU budget (or budget for an actual big cpu upgrade) | ||

However, I wouldn't have a clue when comparing. These all look suitable to me but have different price tags. Any insight as to which would suit my situation best? From what you've said 270+ is going to be a significant upgrade. So for me it appears the CHEAPEST ($219) 270 GPU would be the best... But if I'm going to get decent improvements for $30 more i'd consider it. 270/270x are pretty close, basically the same specs. 270 is usually cheaper than 270x because 270x has higher stock clocks and maybe a little more OC headroom(?) I was gonna say you could look at 760's too, but they seem way more expensive (like 1.5x) on that site. For similar performance that's quite crazy | ||

I know the 270s had an issue with "twitching" but that was addressed via VBIOS awhile ago. (Of course, that BIOS revision added twitching to my 280x, but I think that's an Asus thing.) | ||

I think with Radeon cards, the quickest way to find out which ones have problems is to check the cryptocoin community. They eat them like candy. Yea, there was a big thread about them. I think it was the msi gaming 270 | ||
