Nice! I have one with blue switches, super quality board!
I just ordered some O-ring dampeners from wasdkeyboards for my quickfire. Don't think it'll hurt to add them just to cut away some of the extra noise mech keys tend to make.

I thought about getting a 6g and now I'm unsure if the keys are too heavy or if it's just that you have to train to use it. Yes, both have blacks switches. Some time ago, i saw a red switch version of ss 6gv2, but actually i have no more information about that. Also keep in mind that there are a lot of people who think that black switch are fine for their own purposes. You might be one of them, who knows ?
the red was a special anniversary edition. It won't be reappearing any time soon

Why buy a BlackWidow ultimate when you can get this for the same price? ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/H5k20.jpg) I've used my friends BlackWidow vs my k90, the differences are immediate and the build quality of the k90 is much better. K90 also uses Red switches if anyone was curious. Edit: Also someone said the keys had wear issues, let's clear the water with this one, the K60 DOES have wear issues, however the K90 is laser etched and does NOT have those issues.
I've heard nothing but complaints about the semi-mechanical nature being just AWFUL for typing on. I use my F keys for map position hotkeys, and doing "tak tak tak SMUSH" is something I could never tolerate. If they fixed that frankly retarded decision I'd be all over that board.

Yeah they both use blacks. Personally my suggestion would be to go with reds if you are unsure. I wish I would have went with reds, but it's too late and I'll man up and take the blacks. Still better than typing on a membrane board.

After looking at the video difference between a non-o-ring an O ring board with blues, I jumped on a set of 40A durometer o rings from WASD keyboards for $17 plus $2 shipping, and another $6 for a nice key puller. The sound of my keyboard bottoming out is what keeps my girlfriend awake anyways. So I get to keep my BWU and eat my cake too :D
One day I'll switch to reds (for future reference, anyone who thinks the tactile feedback is nice, it does really start to interfere with double taps and is very inconsistent after you get a feel for good quality switches. Go with blacks or reds, IMO) but until then, the trusty old BWU will be refit for service.

Good to see you found a solution. Just remember to be careful taking off the big keys (Shift, space bar etc).

As far as Mechanical Keyboards go. I'm thinking about getting a Rosewill with Cherry Brown switches, can anybody with experience in them tell me how they are? I plan on buying off of newegg.com
Thanks

If I buy a set of WASD keycaps will they be able to fit on my leapold tenkeyless?

If you buy both of em' from Elitekeyboards, I would be pretty sure that they fit. Still, going with the default keycaps is the best choice, because there have been some reports saying that the keycaps which were bought separately didn't perfectly fit the keyboard. I would stay safe and functional over the looks.

You will have to do some modding if your planning on buying new leopold caps. Also I think the shift key as well has a different placement or maybe Im thinking Filco. But standard keys if you replace them will fit wasd, fkeys etc. Remember almost all keycaps made for cherry mx switches will fit unless you have a weird ass keyboard.

Im pretty sure everything but the space bar will fit. So you will just have to keep the regular leopold spacebar.
You are talking WASD the company not the 4 keys right? Either way im pretty sure this answers your question
edit: Oh and the WASD keys wont have cutouts for the capslock/scrolllock lights either. So it will be harder to tell when those are on.

I've used pretty much every single kind of keyboard and I feel the buckling spring and white alps blow all others out of the water. The crisp tactility with an actuation force being at the top contributes to a fantastic typing experience, now if I could only find them at a decent price... sigh..

Thanks I just got mine yesterday except I ordered it off amazon as the shipping was free on amazon, rosewill is a newegg product so amusingly it still came in newegg packaging. It's a huge improvement over my old non mechanical keyboard, but I can't really compare to any other mechanicals as it's my first one.
Pros: * Good quality, nothing seems cheap or flimsy, solid build that won't slide around. I don't see this thing breaking any time soon. * Decent price for a no frills quality keyboard. Cons: *My back space squeaks a bit when I hit it in a certain spot, I'll probably oil it(apparently supposed to use silicone or white lithium grease) later to try and get rid of the squeak, rest of the keys work fine.Apparentally this is a pretty common problem with mechanical keyboards in general not just rosewill, backspace and spacebar seem to be the typical offenders *The braided cable while very high quality is a little bit short, wasn't an issue for me though. *A bit bland, no LED lights other than for numpad, but it has a nice red metal plating behind the keys to offer some contrast and custom keycaps that fit on FILCO can fit on rosewill too if you want to customize.
Compared to my old keyboard it's a blast to play / type on. The difference in level of resistance was instantly noticeable. It's slightly quieter than my old rubber dome even when I bottom out and when I touch type its pretty much silent.
As long as you don't really care about LED's it's a good choice, my original choice was ducky, but they are sold out/ backordered like everywhere for the mx browns and I wasn't sure how often they become available. Saw rosewill mx brown for 109 free shipping on amazon and I haven't seen a negative review of it yet.
You can also find some youtube reviews of it as well. Sorry I haven't had longer to mess with it.

I had black stealseries but then got a Unicomp springs KB. By far the best IMO and cheaper too, Nothin fancy but you won't regret it.

Anyone have experience with the Zowie Celeritas w/ brown switches?
Hows it compare to Rosewill or the other big US makers?

Anyone know when europe will have the quickfire? They look awesome and the price is really low

Just an update, I installed the 40A durometer O rings on my BWU, and holy fucking hell it transformed the board. It's suddenly much sturdier feeling, sounding, the key impacts are still firm, but pliant, and no more TAKATAKTATKATKATKATKAKTATKATK whenever I'm bottoming the keys out. It's now a much more sexy sounding "tiktiktiktik" and my WPM went up from 138 average to 141 average. Also spent three hours cleaning the bugger. The one huge downside to the mechanical switches is they catch and hang onto hair really strongly, so I had to go at it with some eyebrow tweezers.
Moral of the story: I don't care what keyboard you have, buy WASD O rings for it. Though the 5.99 key puller just doesn't work as well as a very thin butter knife I've found.

You don't want to pry keycaps off cuz they can damage the switch. Try and pull them straight up. I don't know what keycap puller ur using but a simple tooth-floss loop pulled from under opposite sides will do. Two paper clips are also a great way to pull them.

Hi guys, i've been using a Rosewill RK9000RE keyboard for about a month now, and the lack of a wrist rest is beginning to annoy me. Is there any separate wrist rest that anyone can recommend me which is comfortable and at a good height to match Rosewill keyboards?
I live in Singapore so if i can get it from any of the shops here that would be a plus, thanks!
