It's not as heavy as a 6Gv2 so I'm a bit affraid if it's completely of plastic, if anyone knows of the build quality or that is it slippery on desk surface.. would love to hear about it (6Gv2 seems sturdy.. which would be good).

So anyway I found these noise reduction pads http://www.maxfps.se/product_view.aspx?productid=4174. By the sounds of it they seem to reduce the noise quite a bit (acceptable levels). Only concern is how they affect the keys function like bottom-out earlier and mess something up. Anyone tried these and know how they feel?

Other than that id actually prefer blues instead of reds since I tend to miss alot and their supposedly good for RTS. Still I think brown would have been optimal. I used blackwidow a day and I decided to return it today. So terrible for gaming. You just can't double-tab with them.

video of the effect of o-rings from wasdkeyboards I'm using them myself and they are pretty much completly silencing your keyboard and reduce the keytravel about 1mm to 3mm (4mm standard keytravel and actuationpoint at 2mm). You basically just "lose" 1 of the 2mms of its "unnessecary" keytravel after the actuation point. They are a great mod to prevent hand/finger fatigue and make spamming apm much faster (less keytravel) and easier. Definately recommended!

Kind of an amateur question but what would you guys recommend for gaming out of these 2? I play FPS and Sc2 more casually , i prefer the black for FPS but for SC2 maybe you will prefer blues , you really have to click on them to hear the sound and feel the touch of the keyboard. Price-wise i payed 70 euros for the SS and the blackwidow costs 80 euros so there its not a sizeable difference unless you go for the blackwidow ultimate that has leds and costs 130 euros moreless..

Comparision: - 6gv2 has 6kro through usb / nkro through ps2 - blackwidow has 2kro with 'optimized gaming matrix' - 6gv2 is smaller than blackwidow - 6gv2 has cherry black switches - blackwidow has cherry blue switches - blackwidow has glossy plastic - blackwidow has software handled macros - 6gv2 has a non standard layout (big enter key, small right shift, etc.) - 6gv2 doesn't have left windows key, it's replaced with a key that cannot be rebind - 6gv2 media keys are uncomfortable to use and lack a 'Stop' key

I hear mixed reviews about the topres, and they're supposedly not really made to be a gaming keyboard. But if you get an equally weighted one I bet it would be fine....... hmmmmmmm............... I really don't care how well they type I just want it to be good for SC2. Are WASD keyboards good quality or just really customizable? Filco or leopold?

That's what I was first looking for but no one in Sweden sells them, would rather not import with all the hassle involved,159kr ain't much. But if these actually improve the keys then ill definitely go for them.

I'd get whichever is easier; there's little real difference between the Leopold and Filco keyboards. Some like Leopolds, some like Filco. I'm leaning towards Filco a bit, but it's a real close race either way.

I associate topres with typing enthusiasts for someone who is on the computer for 10-12 hours a day. as for availability depends on where you live. If you live in US/CA then leopolds are by far cheaper to get as well as to ship. Filcos are harder to get in the US because theres really only 1 company selling them and thats keyboardco which overseas shipping plus conversion rate is killer T_T.. Filco is obviously I would say a top board, but for someone who owns several leopolds I would say its a step under. you could order a Rosewill which is a board that uses a filco controller for the board, and its manufactured by the same company as filco. Its either way really, spend $150 + shipping so another 30-50 shipping. Or pay $100 and spend 30-40 shipping. Unless you by used then thats a whole other ballpark. Is there a very significant difference? when you touch type it feels like your on a fluffy cloud, your hands don't wear out as fast as blacks. And after typing a 8-10 page paper, i still have enough energy to play some sc2!

The reason I got this keyboard in particular is that it's the only mechanical keyboard with full backlighting and Reds. It has nice media controls and macro functionality too. I love it!
