It seems to me to be a problem with the switch, I put on a different key cap, and it still does it. I'm not sure, but I feel like the cap gets caught on one of the edges of the switch or maybe something's wrong with the spring. What should I do? It's quite annoying...

Call DAS, they should help you out. A broken switch happens sometimes, and DAS should happily take care of it. If they don't, let us know, because that's customer service I'd want to know about
I just got my MAXkeyboard nighthawk x9 completely custom a few minutes ago, just finished O-ringing it and have it running, and WOW. I have blacks in the Fkeys, , tab, shift, ctrl, windows, space, alt, enter, backslash, and backspace, browns in the tenkey, escape, and capslock keys, and reds everywhere else, and it's definitely different from my blackwidow ultimate, but I love it. The max also came with a keycap puller (much better than the WASD one) as well as 4 custom keys and a cable tie, and a very, VERY nice gel wrist rest.
Mine also has a custom backlight scheme of solid white, with blue WASD and space, green esc and arrow keys, red windows and FN keys, red for the capslock light, blue for the game mode light, and blue on the 1,3,5,7,9 tenkey pad to make an "X"
It sure was pricey though. Including shipping (which sadly isn't free) and the O rings, it came out to $277. But considering it's the thing I use the most in my day to day life, I figured it was worth it.
Also, MAX has the best customer support on god's green earth. If this thing ever breaks, they will ARMA me a new one before I send mine in and usually offer some kind of freebie gift when I get it back.
If you ever decide to drop some real dime on a keyboard (or are okay with $144 for one color and keyswitch type, individual LED or keyswitch change costs are a few bucks apiece) I'd go with MAX over anyone else at this point. the MX blues in my razer were fun, but it's time to move onto a real gaming board.
I'll post some pics of it later when I find the SD card for my camera
Here's the switch layout I have (when you're considering a custom board, MAX's customer service, which seems to never freaking sleep, will give you a rough draft of your choice of color and/or switches, so you know exactly what you're getting. In my case, they gave me multiple drafts because I couldn't make my mind up)

That said, I now have a razer blackwidow ultimate for sale, $70 plus shipping. It works and looks brand new, no wear anywhere and not a spec of dirt or hair on it (regularly cleaned with tweezers and cyberclean) I can supply pics. It's also got WASD's 40a dutometer O rings on it to stop the bottoming out clack, so all you hear is the click of the MX blue. Good gaming board, but easily one of the best typist's keyboards too (If I don't sell it, I'm hanging onto it for if I ever get a desk job)

One thing I've noticed is that I don't really like the MX black in the left shift, ctrl, and backspace keys. The leftshift and ctrl are causing me a lot of pinkie finger fatigue when I'm trying to spring or crouch in planetside. Emailing MAX to see if their 30 day return policy would allow me to send it back and have a few of the blacks replaced with reds.
I got a reply - they'll gladly take the board back and change whatever I want, free of charge (I just need to pay for shipping)
Seriously, these guys are fucking incredible
I'm going to give it a few days, but next week I'm going to send it in - I'm probably switching the Fkeys, FN, and tilde to browns, tab, backspace, backslash, space, L/R shift, L/R alt, and L/R ctrl to reds, leaving only enter, windows, and page as blacks (The black by itself is okay for more firm fingered players, but I have such a light touch I'm getting a lot of finger fatigue on the peripheral keys)

Has anyone got anything to say about the Gigabyte Aivia? Ordered it today, set to arrive on friday.
Seen some pretty good reviews for it.

That's really nice.
I never really considered different switches on the same board before - i guess i just love browns on pretty much everything though :D

$277? does that include the led customisation? (as in do they cost more if you change more colour?) I was thinking to get a board with different switches when I saw that ducky special edition one (it even has green and clear switch) but didn't expect it to be this expensive. but a full customised one would be awesome to have (better if it was aluminum casing though, it's the next big thing that I want for my next keyboard)

Polt seems to be using either Quickfire Stealth or Quickfire TK im not sure which one though. For all we know he could be using the Quickfire TK but forced to tell people he uses the Stealth because of marketing strategy. Someone should tell him to focus his webcam on that thing :p

Ran into some amazon point and am planning on buying my first mechanical keyboard any recommendations guys?

For $60 I give it a 9/10

Im pretty sure it is a razer blackwidow. Ok for the price, but I don't think its actually backlit like that picture suggests.

Awesome Definitely get us some pictures
I agree with blacks being too heavy, holding down control to crouch in DayZ quickly gets painful.

How about you ask their support instead of a random internet forum?

Hey guys, so I'll most likely be going with the Ducky G2 pro tkl with blue switches. I am definitely looking to get customized keycaps and was wondering if stabilizers are worth it? They're pretty darn cheap but I'm not sure how much keycaps can take before they bend (which is something I've never heard of). I would only get them on the spacebar, both shifts, enter, and backspace. Just wondering if they're worth the extra like $3!
|
Hmmm. So I was basing my question off of wasdkeyboards.com and assuming that all keyboards don't come with stabilizers in general / have changeable stabilizers, but after doing some research I don't think that's the case? Some more research has shown there's two types of stabilizers, cherry and costar, and more people seem to like costar because cherry has a "mushy" feel at the bottom. I have literally no idea what that means, or what they will feel like so I guess I'll have to wait till I get my board to figure out what I want to do with them

Just got my CM Quickfire rapid red (my first mechanical keyboard). Really happy with it, thanks to the people who suggested it ^^

@DeLouuu:
Just as general information, the keys with stabilizers are the keys that are particularly large, the Shift keys, Space Bar, Backspace, Enter. The switch is installed somewhere in the middle, and the stabilizer connects the movement of the two corners of the key, so you can press something like the Space Bar wherever you like. Tab, Ctrl, Alt are short enough to be normal keys.
Describing it as "mushy" for Cherry stabilizers sounds alright to me. The feel is pretty similar to installing o-rings.
It probably does not matter if you completely understand what this "mushy" means, you should simply be aware that there is definitely a difference in the feel of the keys with stabilizers and the normal keys with Cherry. The CoStar stabilizers manage to have pretty much the exact same feel for the keys with stabilizers and the normal keys. You can think of those as the safe choice because of that. Even if you don't know if you would be annoyed by the Cherry stabilizers, if you have a choice between products where you don't really care for one, just go for the choice with CoStar.

Ok, so I'm considering obtaining my first mechanical keyboard. As my mind is pretty much set on MX-Brown and Daskeyboard are unavailable in Poland AFAIK, I'm seriously considering Tesoro Durandal Ultimate G1NL MX-Brown. The Sword.
Anyone with experience with this particular model or this company in general?

Getting my custom sleeved cable for my Filco soon, should go well with my blank white keycaps. Next items on my hitlist are a new case (Looking at buying a custom made acrylic case as part of a group buy) and I am going to buy some thick PBT keycaps from Ducky when they release them in UK layout

Depends what the damage is, see if you can find out why the 'E' is sticky. If something has been spilled on it then there could be more damage.
So seems like a great deal, but try find out more first.
If it is just the 'E' that is broken then you can repair it with one of the other switches (like scroll lock or something) but this requires soldering.
