As an owner of a TKL filco with blues, the keyboard itself is amazing. The keycaps are shit. I would recommend you get some solid PBT caps to replace the stock ones, because they wear out incredibly quickly and get shined up really fast too. Is the keyboard itself worth the money? I think that's up to you to decide. Filco have a damn-near bulletproof reliability reputation and in most cases that is more important than price. For me that was worth the premium.

I'm getting the ninja, so there won't be anything on top

There are often cheaper options (not sure if this is the case in Japan) but filcos are totally solid and you won't be disappointed.
Filco is 12800 - 10% here, which is about US$115.

That is a pretty good price*, maybe have a look at Leopolds or Duckys but they do have different stabilisers so the big keys will feel different, some dont like how they feel.
*Though its kinda hard to judge though with recent currency fluctuations

I really really really hated the way the ninja caps felt, very slippery. You might like it tho :D

I have a black widow TE at home and was thinking about getting the TE stealth for work for something quieter. I'm hoping that the muscle memory I have with the cherry blues translates pretty well to the browns and visa versa. browns are the same in feel, really. If you're trying to game, I'd really avoid the tactile, but for work, browns are incredible. Personally, I like tactile for gaming too. And like I said, I already have the blues at home with the black widow, so getting an identical yet quiet keyboard for work would be great.
I'd second that. I have both a blue and a brown DAS (one for the office). The blues are so nice to type on, sound awesome and are more than fine for gaming. The browns aren't bad, but unless noise really is an issue I'd rather be on the blues. Had a TTEsports thing with blacks and it was bloody awful in comparrision to both, barely better than a non-mechanical to type on IMO.

thanks!

Hi I just got a new das keyboard and the / key is harder to press than the rest of the keyboard, does anyone know why and if I can fix this at home? It's only harder to press when I press the bottom half of it, which I'm used to doing :s

I got my Das ~4 months ago. The spacebar and 'k' keys were sticky the first few days - hard to press, get caught on the way back up 20% of the time. I was able to break them in after 6+ hours of typing iirc. I've read on a few forums that it's pretty normal. Unless anyone else here says otherwise, I'd break it in for a few days before you try anything else

They're not bad, but a QFR has a better build quality. So unless you're physically in asia and getting it for $50, probably not worth it. Okay then, QFR it is. I won't be visiting Asia until next year at the nearest, so I think I'll settle for the QFR. Maybe I'll get the Stealth, or some keycaps later on. Thanks! get ducky is awesome.

Does a KBT Race (75% keyboard) WITH white backlightning not exist? On their website, they only seem to carry white keycaps+white backlight or black keycaps with no backlight -_-

Dunno if you could possibly grab one from australia, but filco makes great TKL keyboards, and just released an ultra-compact version (noppoo choc-ike) called minila. You could try that out (All of them are available with the four usual cherry mx switches). Filco places itself in the upper quality and price range tho. (seriously, who uses the arrow keys these days?). As a programmer, i do. Many, many times a day. I also use them as media controls in combination with alt and ctrl. I use arrow keys all the time also when coding (or even when writing things that are long). However I don't do that sort of thing too much on my tablet.

Just got a Noppoo Choc keyboard with no numpad, blue switches. This is my first mechanical keyboard but it feels solid and I like it alot.

I'm considering getting the Quickfire Stealth for $90 total (tax and shipping included) yet all of a sudden I feel that I can get a higher quality keyboard for this much. Is there a keyboard that is better than the stealth at no more than $100 max? I prefer tenkeyless as I'll be bringing it to school a lot next year, and I prefer a minimalist look.

FIlco is made by costar, quickfire stealth and quickfires are also made by costar.

Im interested in buying a CM Storm Quick Fire TK with blue switches. If anyone has that keyboard around here I would like to hear what you think about it.
|
What about it specifically? I feel you'd be able to get what you're looking for from reviews (either on YT or user reviews). I don't have it personally, but its pretty much an agreed consensus that all CM keyboards are of top quality; the TK included. The only one that is a bit iffy at times is the QFP but only because they had paired up with iOne for their production until they switched that to Costar as well. Even then I had their original version and I still have mines, it was decent.
