It doesn't have Costar stabilizers though according to this video :/
mmm the design of the corsair boards are really interesting. i like how the frame is lowered like that and i want another tenkeyless.
i need to get rid of this noppoo choc mini because i need to use the delete/home/end keys way too much and using fn to use them is too much. programming problems :/
still enjoying my 2013 blackwidow though so i'm fine for now. my main issue is that once every 3/4 months the i-key will get stuck and i need to replug the usb. a minor inconvenience but i'll live with the $70 price tag. i'm really a fan of how the leds for caps/num lock are embedded into the panel. plus the gaming mode is somewhat used (disable windows key).

Sounds like you got the bad version of the choc mini I have two choc minis that have del/home/pgup/pgdn/end down the right. It's amazing for programming. I also have one that has fucking switchlock/somerandomshit down the right, and it is painfully bad. Have to check with the seller before you buy to make sure which version it is.
I think almost all of the newer ones are the better version. They also changed the keycaps, much better, doesn't rub off as much as the old gold-colored shit.

Ah so that's what you want to know. Yes this keyboard is different than others in the fact that it utilizes cherry instead of costar stabilizers. If you haven't had a taste of costar stabilizers, then it's not a big deal using cherry ones.

That is interesting indeed. I wonder how that plays out in terms of sound output from the switches. I can imagine cleaning it would be a hell lot easier too.
ASUS' ROG presentation here at Computex wasn't all meaty graphic powerhouses -- it also displayed a new mechanical keyboard for discerning typists gamers, albeit underneath a piece of black cloth. We were told that the temporarily named "Armor Keyboard" wasn't quite ready to show off its design just yet, but when it comes out towards the end of Q3 this year it will, surprisingly, boast the title of ASUS' first in-house-designed mechanical gaming keyboard. As you'd expect, this backlit device will feature "ultra-responsive" mechanical key switches, as well as dedicated media and programmable hot keys located along the periphery. We'll be keeping an eye out for more information about it later this year, naturally.
maybe aluminum case (one at the back) also forest green cap!
aluminum casing is not confirmed but ducky facebook is giving more details: "Shine 3: Color space bar lighting effect
The space bar is backlit by red, green and blue LEDs. Colors are individually adjustable to combine into your favorite colors. The on-board memory can store up to 9 sets of customized settings to suit your moods" + Show Spoiler +
Asus(<3) keyboard and Ducky Shine 3? ooooooooook...... I guess I'll wait with getting a Cooler Master and see how these are.
After a closer look at the Asus one though...... it doesn't look that groundbreaking or special from what you can see on those pictures. But we'll see.
And that Ducky Shine 3 is a must buy if the girl is included ^_^
What the Ducky Shine 3 is already being developed? Shit I feel like it's only been a few months since I was anxiously waiting for the Ducky Shine 2 to come out. I'm going to have a hard time trying to pick out an LED color though T_T I just wish a mechanical keyboard would come out where you can choose your LED color on all of your keys. I'd die for that.

Its an incredible board. Best value on a backlit keyboard by far. High recommend it. The layout is impeccable too. I have nothing bad to say about it.

Ive got that keyboard with Cherry MX Red switches and I must say that the quality is amazing.
The only thing that is a bit annoying is the 'FN' key. If you want to increase or decrease volume you need to hold FN plus F10/F11. When FN is held for 3 seconds it stays on and all F-keys work as alternative until FN is permanently off again.
Lets say you are waiting for a new match to start and adjusted the volume but forgot to make sure that FN is off. The next thing you want to do is to set up camera hotkey locations but instead of pressing F1-F4 etc keyboard backlit changes. Bit annoying though but if you remember that it wont be a problem.
I'm sure this has been posted somewhere in this thread, but it's almost 300 pages long and I'm not really into looking through all of them... I was looking to get a razer or steelseries but then I read some reviews and was like nah son. I've heard great things about ducky and filco and I've been looking into those two quite a bit. I've done my research on switch types and blue seem to be what I'm looking for (I wouldn't mind testing them out but I don't believe there are any stores around that have mechanical keyboards to try. are there even any?). I would also prefer to have a tenkeyless keyboard since I literally never use those number keys. They're a waste of space in my personal opinion. So I've narrowed it down to two keyboards, the Filco Majestouch 2 or the Ducky G2 Pro. I'm sure someone has at least one of these keyboards and I would love to know what you guys think about them. I would also really like to customize the keycaps and waskeyboards.com seems to be pretty legit. After I typed this I decided to smarten up and check out their info section, they are compatible woohoo! I can get free shipping for either and the Ducky is a good ~$30 cheaper so I'd like to hear some reviews from you guys, thanks!
Currently, I have the Filco you are talking about with brown switches. It's pretty amazing for a keyboard, small, not too light and well built (yes i have dropped it to my shame and it has no damage). I've tried out the Ducky 2 shine and again that was pretty sound.
Put it this way, i've used the Filco every day for loads of hours due to my job (programming) and gaming, and it still feels exactly the same as when i bought it. Also the price difference is tiny when you think how long this thing is going to last. Guess it depends on what design you prefer, and if there are any horror stories about either keyboard.

Good research. If you can wait 1-6 months WASD will come out with a new keyboard which will have tenkeyless options and other snazzy stuff and that will save you some money if you are definitely going to get custom caps. But there is no release date yet here is some info.
If you want a keyboard now the Ducky is probably the better choice. $30 is a fair bit and the Filco doesn't have that much over the Ducky. Filco has better quality case and stabilisers (things under the big keys to make them depress straight) that are usually preferred, Duckys ones make the keys feel squishy.
But the stabiliser thing isn't a big deal if its your first mechanical, its very unlikely you will notice and its not like the keyboard case is ever going to break in normal use.
Also the Ducky has dip switches that do stuff like turn off the windows key, has multimedia keys and a detachable cable. Be careful with the cable though, other keyboards have had problems with the mini usb port in the keyboard breaking easily, haven't heard of it happening with Ducky though.
So go Ducky, but also have a look at Coolermaster's tenkeyless range, the TK and Quickfire Rapid. Both good and usually very cheap.

I'd look into the Cooler Master Quickfire Rapids, as they're clones of the Filco sharing the same manufacturer for a much cheaper price. They recently released the Quickfire Rapid Stealths which look pretty handsome if you're willing to pay a little more.
Hello, I've been using my Logitech UltraX for many years now and tried to get into the mechanical keyboards. I once had a Razer BlackWidow with Blue Switches which I returned because it was too loud and I also couldnt really get used to it because right now my keys are extremely flat and nowadays I guess it would take more time to adjust. I also had a Razer Deathstalker for a week but I wasnt content with it either. I watched Polts stream and got interested in the QuickFire Stealth. But it is not and will not be available in QWERTZ (German) layout (I messaged support). The only other keyboard that is similiar is the Filco Majestouch Ninja TKL but it is more than twice the price (170€ to ~72€) but available in qwertz. Are there any alternatives with this design (captions on the front of the keycaps)?

Nope. Im pretty sure CM said Filco have the European patent on front printed keycaps and that is why there won't be any QF Stealth in Europe.
You could get another keyboard (quickfire rapid) and get front printed caps from China or somewhere.

Could you link some front printed caps? I cannot really find a place to buy them.
Otherwise I think I might just have to save up for the Filco.
