I know T.T. I don't like browns. I really wish there was a switch that was like a cherry mx blue without the click. I've been checking out clears, but they are really just like stiffer browns. Their force diagrams are very similar. The blue's force diagram is very different from the browns/clears. Does anyone know a switch that is quiet but has a force diagram similar to the blues?
reds
Completely wrong, the reds have an entirely different force diagram in every way. It's a linear switch that's significant lighter than blues (due to the lack of resistance from a tactile bump)
yup this, your best solution would be to mod your keyboard with o-rings. maybe even double o-rings
O-rings does not affect the force diagram. O-rings only shorten the travel distance to bottoming out.
yes its a noise dampener.. the poster likes his blue switchs but dislikes the clicky noise, he obviously wont find another switch similar to blues so his only option is to mod his board with o-rings . unless he wants to try a topre out
edit: rofl unless i missread something, hes looking for blues and not browns right? afaik he just dislikes the clicky noise from his blues
Actually, I absolutely love the clicky sound of blues. However, this is going to be a keyboard for use in an office (i.e. cubicle farm) environment, and I don't want to be known as that one guy with the loud keyboard. O-rings help with bottoming out, so I am going to get those regardless of what keyboard I get, but even with those, the clickiness of the blues might be too much . That's why I am trying to find a keyboard that feels like blues but doesn't have the click.
Yeah, nothing stock does that, sadly. I would love if cherry would make essentially an OEM ergo clear switch. They have the parts to do it.
Caring about noise? lol, It's always been about who's got the loudest keyboard. When I was using buckling springs my roommates could hear it through my room door.
I've been enjoying my QFR Cherry blues. I'm still bottling out on like 30-40% of my presses, but it's no big deal. I like the fn function on the keyboard, great for quickly switching songs without having to alt+tab.

Pretty sure my co-workers would poison my food if I used MX Blues at work.

Should use MX Blacks, or Bucklign springs. Then you'll get stabbed 50 times.

May you one day switch from rubber-dome to mechanical my friend. Then you will realize that this thread is awesome and that everything you said previously was just your ass talking.
Hello again. I just posted here about one week ago on how I want a 6gv2 with red switches but can't order one because they [Steelseries] don't sell'em here in Germany and so i decided to get the regular 6gv2 instead.
Only thing I can say is that I don't regret my choice at all, it's an awesome keyboard and I also like the "macro keys". They work great with any music player and are really helpful when you play Starcraft and don't like the song that is currently being played (doesn't sound too good, but it really is!!! :D )
I'm now super happy with my 6gv2 and I can totally recommend it. Then again I haven't had a mechanical keyboard before, so that may be why I like it that much. But for roughly 80€/ 100USD you can't go wrong with this keyboard.

Sorry to possibly disappoint you, but I asked the Steelseries support just last week whether or not the were going to release the 6gv2 Red edition with European layouts (QWERTZ, AZERTY and others) in Europe and they answered that those will be released very soon.

I am not disappointed. I am perfectly fine with the black switches At first I was thinking they might need too much force to activate which is totally not true for me. But since this is only my first mechanical keyboard, there's many more to go (well...once I have money to throw away)

Until then... keep living under that rock.
Well said! Until this guy actually tries a mechanical he should remain silent because of his ignorance. Nothing is useless if it's helping others. Trolling on the other hand...

Edit: Thanks for the information though!
I own a 6gv2 aswell and I love it, too :D. But what I wanted to say is, that the version with red switches will almost certainly be more expensive than the black one. It's just the same with steelseries headphones. The white one is 70€ the red's 80 and the frost blue is 120, just because it's the newest. That's ridiculous.
I wish there was a way to justify to myself, that it is worth spending the same amount of money on sick keycaps as I would on the actual keyboard. lol.

QQ. So much $$$, can't wait to start making money...
