I know the CM Storm QFR often goes on sale, so if I were to buy at these prices, I might steer away from it. Also, what's the difference between the Rosewill RK-9000 and Rosewill RK-9000I?

From a quick googling it looks like the 9000I has a white body. Don't think there is any other difference. It looks pretty snazzy.

Knowing that, now I need to look for another keyboard. Might go with the Leopold seeing as how a couple people have already told me it's a reliable keyboard. Leopold is known for being pretty solid, yes. There are people who don't care for the type of stabilizers they use on their longer keys (backspace, tab etc) but for someone who's going to buy their first mechanical i'm fairly sure you won't notice the difference. Rosewills are indeed known for having the detachable USB problems, but unless you'll be using that very often i doubt you're going to have a lot of problems with that.

Well as a college student, I only have a laptop, so the USB port is kind of a big deal for me. :p Are there any other suppliers of Leopolds besides elitekeyboards?

Ah yes, well then i'd say that's pretty much a dealbreaker. Personally i don't live in the US so i don't know of any other one except for elitekeyboards, i know that they are very widespread in korea but apart from that i've never heard of any retailer or e-tailer that sells them.

I hear you. I had a lot of USB connections, but I bought a solid monitor that included four USB slots that I could use. If it really persists to be a problem, consider buying a USB hub. Anyways, you're not going to find an online RETAILER outside of EK, unless you plan to buy it from Korea or Japan. The only other way is to buy Leopolds second-hand off forums like GeekHack, DeskThority, and Overclock.net.

Bought the white version with red switches. Main thing I bought it for is the F key placements, which all go in line with the numbers at the top ofthe board. (since I find it hard to use the F keys in SC2 because of the spacing and placement).

And does anyone know if any mechanical keyboards ever go on sale during Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

QFR does not go on sale often for $50-$60. maybe once for every 3 months. The QFR blues should be 69 at newegg and that may be cheap. but it's high qaulity. Especially compared to the BW.

I recently got the CM Storm QFR while it was on sale,. From my understanding it's every few months. Mechanical keyboards are a pretty niche markets, and like most niche markets are less likely to be influenced by Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. Though you may see some Rosewill Keyboards on sale, as Newegg is known to put their products on sale, as a way to draw in customers. Just make sure if you want to get QFR, that you're absolutely okay with the fact that it is TKL (10 key less). I don't necessarily regret getting QFR, but there are definitely random ass times where I'm like "damn, i wished i had numpad"

It's compact. That's it's best trait.
