Well it should because it's manufactured in germany :p

Actually it is manufactured in Taiwan by Costar.

The company Metadot sells it under the Das brand name. The CEO is French, his wife the marketing director is German.

Sorry for the Oktober Nicht So Gut news but I'm more irate that my Leica binocs were manufactured in Portugal.

This isn't a place to advertise for your stuff. Anyways why bother posting when it finishes in one hour? The mechanical keyboard thread isn't THAT active.

So I'm looking for a high-quality, bare-bones keyboard (no macro keys or backlighting or other such gimmickry) with Blacks or Reds. Best thing I've found is the Meka G1. Have I missed anything?

edit: That CM Storm does look nice.

Filcos or Leopolds. Literally no branding on the tnekeyless models at all, and only one "Filco" branded thingy on top of the numpad on the Filcos and a "leopold" on top of the numpad of the Leopolds for the full size models.

I'm looking for a keyboard to replace my "old" razer lycosa mirror edition.
I'm a top masters Zerg with 270 Average APM, who goes often to offline tournaments. All of my opponents have mechanical keyboards, and I already tested some of them.
However I would like to receive some advice of you TLers, before I jump into this Mechanical Madness.

I have razer in my blood, Razer Deathadder, Razer Banshee and the Lycosa, however the Black widow has those macro keys that I don't feel confortamble with, I know it does need to time to get used to, but still it kinda makes me mad.

Suddenly I saw the blackwidow 2013 Tournament edition, without those macro keys, and since it's cheap and Razer, I felt into it.
Then I tried the Ozone Strike, and felt really really good, and it's cheap also (in the average price)
Steelseries also do have some nice mechanical keyboards.

What do you advise me to go for? I live in Portugal so there's not that many distribuition besides Ozone, Razer and Steelseries, but if you believe that another brand is worth taking a look, give them a chance

I have a BW Ultimate - I use it on my work laptop now as I could never get used to the side macro keys - I kept thinking that they were the ctrl/shift and my keystrokes were always one off!

So I got the tournament and other than not being backlit I love it. The matte finish is nicer and the key surfaces are stickier. However, the reason for changing was so I could keep my Razer Nostromo on the desk alongside it when playing MW3. The BW Ultimate was too long as I have two side by side gaming setups on my desk. I may get a second Tournament as I like to keep the two setups looking similar.

Hi guys, I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard like the Razer Stealth products. Ones that have the mechanical tactile feedback but are quiet when pressed (no clicking sound).

Any recommendations?

EDIT: Nvm just found out that any keyboard with MX Cherry Brown will do.

Never heard of the Ozone, it looks like a rebranded TT meka G1. If it isn't too expensive and you like black switches that's a decent choice.

I love my deathadder but Razer has a bad reputation when it comes to keyboards. There are better keyboards around often for a better price.

The CM storm quickfire rapid is the win for price/quality and comes with a variety of switches so have a look for one of them.
If you want to save money look for a Cherry keyboard.
If you are fine with spending more for better quality look for a Filco/Leopold.

I'm pretty sure the Razer BW Tournament only comes in blue switches Waterflow. I have to admit, Razer makes eye-catching keyboards, and I'm really digging the TKL version they made.

Edit:
Okay well I checked and they do have a stealth version as well. So there are blues and browns for the Razer BW Tournament.

I'm not very familiar with what stores/sites are available to people in the EU, or more specifically the UK. That is, without it being a stupid shipping price.

Anyone here have a Corsair K90? I was thinking of purchasing one because it looks beautiful, but the lack of mechanical keys for the F keys scare me, since RTS do use them for cameras.

What's your opinion on having membrane F keys? Do they hurt your game? Do they feel weird?

Also, is Corsair planning on making any new keyboards anytime soon?

It's really personal preference, there's no real objective answer.

CM Storm Trigger Brown Switches

The few reasons I'd see a person going for the trigger instead is because of fully back-lit keys, full sized keyboard, and/or the resting pad for your wrists. The macro keys...well let's be honest. Who uses them? If not consistently? I don't know much about the trigger, because not as many people have it. Although given everything it offers and the current sale, it doesn't seem like a bad deal at all compared to the QFR which are about $10 less. Funny enough, when I first read your post I checked Newegg and I didn't see a sale. A few hours later when I browsing Newegg for other things, it price-matched Amazon.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129009

Edit:
I didn't realize Amazon had a MIR option as well. So in fact, Amazon is cheaper than Newegg by about $10 I believe. Don't quote me on that though. However, I can say with 100% certainty that the CM Storm Trigger series is also made by the same OEM as the CM Storm QFR series; Costar. If you don't know about Costar, they just make amazing mechanical keyboards. So I would assume the Trigger would be of comparable quality to the QFRs.

I kind of want to return my CM Storm QFRs now that I see this deal...not only is it cheaper but it should be better as the QFPs weren't made by Costar unfortunately.

Forget about the Newegg link I provided. I didn't notice the variations between the two keyboards in terms of switches. The one on Amazon is brown switches while the one on Newegg is black. Also note that it's currently out of stock on Amazon. You'll probably have to wait I would guess a few weeks for them to get it back in stock.

Well as Dystopia stated it really is a matter of preference. That's why there are so many types of cherry switches yeah? Even further such as alps, clears, springs, etc.. It's why the mechanical keyboard market is so diverse. I've used blacks on my friend's keyboard and they feel pretty nice to be honest. I can't say anything about reds yet from personal experience though.

that trigger only comes in browns. Black is only referring to the color of the body.

Edit: nvm, they are blacks.
