The red switches require the same force as brown switches? Aside from the tactile bump. When I looked at the force graph from the article in the OP it appears they both start at 45G, are they the same through out the rest aside from the tactile bump?

Red switches are the lightest compared to brown switches and definitely compared to black switches.

I used a US layout for years and I kind of miss it because of programming and the shitty positions [, ], {, } and \ are in on the German layout. For typing German text, I switched between normal US layout and the international variant with Ctrl-Shift-1 and -2, if I remember right.

So it works fine if I buy das and just put Ä and Ö keycaps where they should and change layout to fin from windows?

Exactly the reason why I'm considering US layout, because those keys are just plain pain to reach in nordic layout.

Involving switches you should do your research (checking out vids and read about them) but in the end you should go with your gut feeling. I both have blues and reds(wich i currently use) but i plan on getting browns for my next keyboard. The reds are very easy and smooth to type on. Really a great feeling and sound. But they don't have the tactility that is present on the browns and blues. In my case i was tired of both the clickyness of the MX Blues as well as the tactility so i am very satisfied using MX red atm. You should watch some comparison videos. Maybe this one will help i dunno: Depending on the keyboard manufacturer the key sounds can sound different even if it's the same switches.

I'm also mostly looking at Ducky Keyboards, if anyone here has one, are they good? They have quite the price tag, so... My Ducky Shine (Cherry MX Brown) showed up today! The purple LEDS look so fucking killer. Changed my mouse LED to purple to match. I installed the rubber O-rings from WASD and the sound on the keys now is pretty comparable to a rubber dome. It's a tiny bit louder but not much. Maybe I'll make a comparison video. My old keyboard was a Logitech G15, the original Nimitz Class Super Carrier version that took up half the desk. The ducky is MUCHHHHH smaller so going to take a tiny bit of getting used to but it shouldn't be too hard. The keys aren't noticeably harder to press over the G15, it feels good man. The back lighting is nice and bright and even has a pointless pulsing light mode where the lights get gradually lighter and darker, when in that mode it gets hella bright. The backlight modes you can cycle through are; Off (nothing backlit except Caps lock, Num lock, etc when you toggle them. Also your refresh rate is lit), Gaming mode (Only WASD, Esc, and Arrow keys are lit along with Caps/num lock from earlier), Normal mode (All keys lit except the num pad), Fully on (all keys lit), Disco mode (All the keys slowly pulsate light to dark to light to dark...) Cons: - No USB Pass through which I used for my n52te, I'll just go get a desktop USB hub for that though. - The cable isn't long enough for me. But I'll just go get a new micro USB cable and change it out. I have a large L shaped desk with my tower on the far right side. For the average person's desk the cord is plenty long, just a personal problem. Pros: - Looks awesome - Feels awesome - Windows key disable through dip switches on the bottom of the keyboard. A feature I can't live without (fuck you windows key!!!!!) - Did I mention how dope the purple lights are? Zerg what? I'd recommend it to friends for sure. It's pricey but it's exactly what I wanted. Feels like a very solid build. I'm sure it's sacrilege around here but it feels much more solid than a Razer Black Widow I tried in a store. If you're in the market check it out! BTW, I had no idea over which switches I wanted either since there was no local place to try all the different kinds. I knew I wanted something non clicky and smooth, I figured I might like the tactile bump so I went with Browns and it was the perfect choice. There's just a little bump when you actuate the key at the mid point so you know it's been pressed. For gaming it's not necessary since you'll most likely be mashing buttons.
