Different strokes for different folks. But I'm guessing the blues are what's killing you. I've tested out a Razer Black Widow in the store and it's god awful. Why anyone would use blue switches for gaming is beyond me. I think you just got the wrong keyboard but everyone likes different stuff so if that thing turned you off mech keyboards I can totally understand.

Here are the specs: http://www.ttesports.de/products/product.aspx?s=33 Apparently, it utilizes plunger-switches. Any idea what those plunger switches are? Looks like an interesting keyboard to try out, even if it is not a full-fledge mechanical one. Look up i-rocks KR6260 and you will see it is exactly the same thing, Tt eSPORTS just asked i-rocks to make for them and put their brand on the KNUCKER.

But overall, which is better for starcraft 2, mx brown or blue? Theoretically speaking, browns are better for gaming compared to blues because of its structure and design. Honestly, it is all about personal preference. I can game just fine on a MX blue keyboard, but some people just prefer brown switches.

How long have you been using it for? Sometimes it takes some time to get used to it and once you do get used to it the membrane keyboards don't feel as good.

According to forum experience and some anecdotal evidence, Razer has a poor history of quality control with their products and their keyboards are generally considered to be of inferior to the Leopolds, Filcos, Das' of this world. If you wanted something compact perhaps a Leopold would have been better as their keys are generally very close together. Moot point now that you've bought the product already but I guess you could always try to sell it over the internet and buy a new one.

It sounds like your problem is getting used to a new keyboard, not the keyboard itself. Also, the Blackwidow is not a great board. Weird distance between keys, unfortunately placed keys on the left side, and the keys, which seemed really loose to me. If you follow the thread, it seems like very few people actually get this board.

But overall, which is better for starcraft 2, mx brown or blue? Its better to get the switch you will like using best than try to think which would be better for sc2. All switches and nearly all keyboards can be used for sc2 with very little difference in performance. Get a keyboard because its comfortable and you enjoy enjoy using it. Also dont restrict yourself to blue and brown, it sounds like you might like a red switched board. But as has been noted above, if you already have blues and browns and are looking for a KB solely for SC2, it might be worth looking into reds and blacks ![]()

I tried out my friend's black widow and apart from the flimsy feeling plastic key caps, the sound it makes is beautiful. I'm went for a keyboard with all blank keycaps, no labels what so ever besides the WASD logo in the top right.

Loving the sound, feel and all, but I find that I'm actually typing slower and missing a lot of keys for some reason. And I'm completely pressing down every key, instead of using the bump. Has anyone experienced this problem before? Is it just that I need to get used to the switches and the new board? (PS: I have a 6gv2 with black switches, but it is SO different from blues). Thanks!! ![]() Yeh its just getting used to it, its hard to adapt to bottoming out when changing from blacks to blues. But after a couple of weeks you should be comfortable with blues again.
