I would guess a tenkeyless keyboard also feels less clumsy. Because longer keyboards can feel clumsy sometimes.

it's a razer blackwidow with cherry mx blue switches, i find it a piece of crap to play starcraft with since it's so hard to use the control + numbers and shift + numbers. very inefficient for me to play with. i'm switching back to my logitech dinovo edge, which is like a laptop keyboard (uses scissor switches), as i prefer it with the small distance each key has to be pressed. anyway, i know a lot of people like mech keyboards so i respect that but just beware if you haven't tried one before, they're not for everyone and in my opinion not good for playing sc2 on if u use control group hotkeys a lot.

Different strokes for different folks. But I'm guessing the blues are what's killing you. I've tested out a Razer Black Widow in the store and it's god awful. Why anyone would use blue switches for gaming is beyond me. I think you just got the wrong keyboard but everyone likes different stuff so if that thing turned you off mech keyboards I can totally understand.

In case nobody noticed yet, new keyboard is coming out made by Tt eSPORTS, the Tt eSports KNUCKER.

Apparently, it utilizes plunger-switches. Any idea what those plunger switches are?
Looks like an interesting keyboard to try out, even if it is not a full-fledge mechanical one.

Look up i-rocks KR6260 and you will see it is exactly the same thing, Tt eSPORTS just asked i-rocks to make for them and put their brand on the KNUCKER.

I decided to get the Das keyboard, But i can't decide between MX Blue and MX Brown, btw, i will mostly be playing starcraft, and sometimes fps. But I've had a blackwidow mx blue keyboard before, and the mx blue feeling was great, double clicking was just a hassle, and I had a nighthawk x8 mx brown keyboard, but the switches felt heavy and felt close to a membrane keyboard, mushy and such, might have just been a defective keyboard, not sure. But overall, which is better for starcraft 2, mx brown or blue?

Theoretically speaking, browns are better for gaming compared to blues because of its structure and design. Honestly, it is all about personal preference. I can game just fine on a MX blue keyboard, but some people just prefer brown switches.

How long have you been using it for? Sometimes it takes some time to get used to it and once you do get used to it the membrane keyboards don't feel as good.

When in doubt, check geekhack. Ask Waar or Ripster if you have any problems.

I think you meant OCN. Waar is Demik at Geekhack and I am banned at Geekhack.

Wow they are pretty, but 150$..

I'd rather try to make my own keycaps than pay 150$ for those titanium caps

To the smithy I say!
Seriously though, someone on here should know a guy that can produce metal caps himself for a lot less bucks?

How about putting some bling on the keyboard. Diamonds, gold, platina and so on.

That platina stone is so f#cking sexy!

Mechanical solid keyboard with full Platina keycaps.....oh my god. Or gold? That would be delicious.

With the letters inlaid with diamonds or another metal..
omnomnomnom

Truly a keyboard for kings. One would get wounds from typing and gaming on that thing, though...

According to forum experience and some anecdotal evidence, Razer has a poor history of quality control with their products and their keyboards are generally considered to be of inferior to the Leopolds, Filcos, Das' of this world. If you wanted something compact perhaps a Leopold would have been better as their keys are generally very close together. Moot point now that you've bought the product already but I guess you could always try to sell it over the internet and buy a new one.

It sounds like your problem is getting used to a new keyboard, not the keyboard itself. Also, the Blackwidow is not a great board. Weird distance between keys, unfortunately placed keys on the left side, and the keys, which seemed really loose to me. If you follow the thread, it seems like very few people actually get this board.

Its better to get the switch you will like using best than try to think which would be better for sc2. All switches and nearly all keyboards can be used for sc2 with very little difference in performance.

Get a keyboard because its comfortable and you enjoy enjoy using it.

Also dont restrict yourself to blue and brown, it sounds like you might like a red switched board.

Both are great, but generally people prefer browns over blues for gaming.
But as has been noted above, if you already have blues and browns and are looking for a KB solely for SC2, it might be worth looking into reds and blacks

Ordered a custom WASD keyboard with blue switches (I'm currently using a 6gV2 with Black Switches) because I thought I'd give them a go.

I tried out my friend's black widow and apart from the flimsy feeling plastic key caps, the sound it makes is beautiful.

I'm went for a keyboard with all blank keycaps, no labels what so ever besides the WASD logo in the top right.

Hi everyone, I just bought a CM Storm Quickfire Rapid with MX blue switches for typing and work. Loving the sound, feel and all, but I find that I'm actually typing slower and missing a lot of keys for some reason. And I'm completely pressing down every key, instead of using the bump. Has anyone experienced this problem before? Is it just that I need to get used to the switches and the new board? (PS: I have a 6gv2 with black switches, but it is SO different from blues). Thanks!!

Yeh its just getting used to it, its hard to adapt to bottoming out when changing from blacks to blues.

But after a couple of weeks you should be comfortable with blues again.
