But I've had a blackwidow mx blue keyboard before, and the mx blue feeling was great, double clicking was just a hassle, and I had a nighthawk x8 mx brown keyboard, but the switches felt heavy and felt close to a membrane keyboard, mushy and such, might have just been a defective keyboard, not sure. But overall, which is better for starcraft 2, mx brown or blue?
sounds like you had a faulty one, the browns should feel nothing like membrane, the whole point of brown is for the light pressing xD, shouldnt be feeling heavy at all.

How big of a difference is there between a black and a brown switch? I've read the difference, but how do you feel about it personally as the consumer?

You gotta feel the difference yourself.....just saying it with words is different than feeling it yourself.

Or have a little faith in what people and professionals say about the different switches
If you can't try them out yourself there's always a bit of gambling involved when buying one.
Played around a bit with the wasd Custom keyboard Designer and came up with this:

Just for fun. Im not going to use that one myself but if anyone else wants to go ahead be my guest lol.
Im not going to order the wasd keyboard, only the separate keys and some o-ring dampeners and a wire keycap puller tool.

Just purchased a white Filco tenkeyless with Red switches.

I don't get why the 6Gv2 Red Edition is limited. In fact I don't understand why you can't chose the switches yourself in the first place.

I guess they wanna see if it sells decently first and also to tease the rest of the world a bit so they get an urge to get a hold of it and when they finally release it for everyone it will sell like butter.
Atleast i guess that's their strategy.

I think every one in EG house uses 6gv2 red edition.

Also that keyboard seems awesome.

Would you guys say that a Majestouch 2 is worth ~40 USD more than an FC500R?

Do WASD keycaps work for Blackwidow?

As far as I know all Cherry MX caps are universal. Only issue would be any backlights wouldn't work since they don't carry backlightable key caps.

Yes they do, WASD keycaps fit any keyboard that uses Cherry MX switches, like your CM Storm QuickFire.

From personal experience, yes. My Filco is just solid, that's the only way I can describe it, plus it's easier to get keys for because I believe Leopold uses a different type of spacebar to the likes of Coolermaster, Das Keyboard and Filco, meaning the space bar either has to be hand modded or you have to get a spacebar specifically made for the Leopold. Not a big issue but something to bear in mind if you are the type to customise things.

Yes they do, WASD keycaps fit any keyboard that uses Cherry MX switches, like your Razer Blackwidow, although if you have the backlit version, it might look kind of strange with solid coloured keycaps over blue LEDs heh ^^

It is a pretty big difference. I hate the blacks in comparison to brown/blue/red and so do pretty much all of my friends that have used it.

On the other hand, if you're now used to rubber dome KB's, it'll be an improvement no matter what switch you get
