Lost my respect for DH, just ridiculous now You know, Dreamhack was around for one and a half decade before sc2 got released. It owes nothing to Sc2. Be glad they are still holding tournaments for the game rather than actually going for more popular games like hearthstone, lol, dota or whatever

Rofl, you guys are blowing this way out of propotion. It completely makes sense for them. CS:GO is wayyy bigger than SC2, the fact that they still hold 3 events for SC2 regardless is great. As I said, the fact that they did not pick Winter/Summer for this is a bummer, but otherwise still having 3 events for HotS is great. DH is a company that needs to rake in profits. And we all have to face it that you're not going to get the big crowds with HotS atm.

Let's check the original quote again: On March 11 2015 01:36 Clubfan wrote: One of the saddest days in SC2 history... And then you are talking about CS:GO and business decisions. wtf is that related to this? This INDEED is one of the saddest days of SC2 history. It completely makes sense for them. CS:GO is wayyy bigger than SC2 It doesn't mean that this can't the one of the saddest days of the SC2. If he had said "This is one of the saddest days of the Dreamhack", I would understand you.

Also considering DreamHack's e-sports scene was promoted by CS and arena FPS it could be said SC2 was the usurper before CS:GO took the throne back.

It doesn't mean that this can't the one of the saddest days of the SC2. Is it sad? Yeah, kinda. Is it understandable? Yes. Is it one of the saddest day in SC2 history? I hardly think so. There'll be much worse things, such as DH completely abandoning SC2 etc. But just because they drop down their SC2 coverage to get on the CS:GO hypetrain for a while, while most "sleeper SC2 Viewers" are just waiting for LotV is not so sad afterall. I talk about CS:GO because when you only see this, SC2 getting less coverage, it is sad. In all the context though it just makes sense for them and the fact that they STILL have SC2 even though they could easily just abandon it completely, shows that there's still a future for DH and SC2. LotV might even be main event again, who knows.

Seeing DH dropping SC2 so quickly when viewer numbers decrease compared to other games, makes you understand that within 1-2 years sc2 might be completely disappeared from DH.

I wanted to go to Valencia this year, but they haven't released any details yet and I don't know if it's worth (possible) getting a ticket that will provide a sleeping place in the hall and if so, if they let you sleep over there after the last day or competition and so on. And I wanted to book my plane tickets already ![]() Would be really nice if someone familiar with Dreamhack format/scheduling/accomodation made a FAQ, because that on their covers only ticket printing and refunds... If you have problems, I now a very nice tangerine plantation near the city where I slept quite well during my last visit. The only drawback was that I wasn't able to eat tangerines for a couple of years afterwards ![]()

They are not dropping it completely though, just shifting focus. Also the fact that you think that LotV will only create hype for 6 months and then drop more is sadder than this, tbh. I for one hope that LotV will do a lot more than that. Anyway, DH has been picking up games and dropping them again all over the place. What makes you think that such a thing would be permanent? They are just reacting to whats popular. So even if they'd drop it completely for a certain time period, if SC2 then rises again in popularity they'd pick it back up. Depending on what Blizzard plans to do with SC2 past LotV, that could easily happen. But thats theorycrafting. I'm just saying that this is not the end of the world by far.

Also we are talking about history (what have happend so far), not future. So far this is one of the saddest days of SC2.
