In a vacuum this news may not be the end of the world. But it's looking more and more like SC2 may have missed the e-sports train only to be left forgotten at the station. I really hope I'm wrong though.

The problem is more with the RTS genre in general which is not popular at all.

Had planned to go to Dreamhack Summer too as I'll finally have the money to think about travelling again. I understand them dropping the smaller circuit events, but dropping it from Summer/Winter? :S The numbers were always pretty damn good for those events right?

I was going to ASUS ROG (Assembly) to watch SC2 but they dropped it ![]() ![]()

Anyway, I await to hear more regarding this, the decision to drop it etc before fully commenting. Hopefully some things get cleared up in this regard in the near future

Swarm Host games are the worst thing to ever happen to SC2, worse than Broodlord/Infestor games.

Probably you don't remember how WoL was like. Do you see Swarm host every game now? Absolutely not. Not even that often in games that go past 20-30 minutes. In WoL, every single game was broodlord infestor and it was either kill them before or you lose. That's the only reason why games didn't last 2 hours, because if it got past 30 minutes the zerg player always won while now it's much more balanced at least.
