I was really excited when I was proved correct after saying Taeja had superstar qualities in him. Now as a near-bonjwa after his record run this summer, we're going to see him crush some more face in WCS-NA. Good luck noble stallion, may your keystrokes be swift and precise. Near Bonjwa? Oh lol please just be fanboy hyperbole....
This boy has potential to be something special even though he is already a very accomplished player. Watching Taeja reminds me of Nada back in his prime. This kid is going to win something much bigger in the future me thinks :0

Why all the hate on Taeja? Who cares if they had a totally bogus cover story for him getting seeded or not..he's obviously a better player than anyone else they could have given it to (except for bomber maybe), so as long as the best players are in the tournament I could care less. Why should a lesser player get the invite just because they had more WCS points? The point system was so broken last year. I mean come on, I love MVP, but he had no business being in the grand finals at blizzcon; he had one good (pre-hellbat nerf) season and got in. I say make sure the best players are competing at all times. I'll take quality matches any day of the week.

I am not a fan of the Taeja overhype, but he definitely earned his prestige during the end of 2013. Sure, the selection seems subjective, but TaeJa is a great, if not consistent, player and deserves his seed.

tp be even more fair it was only Shoutcraft Major had to forfeit. no real WCS implications from doing it either. so, Juanito, fuck these haters. viva la raza!!

I don´t like those promotions. But at least they are performance based.

nah he is not in premier just yet
he got through the wildcard ladder qualifiers, which just puts him in challenger
this would have been a free ticket straight to premier

:/ I would prefer watching Taeja and Jaedong in GSL. Same with Liquid's Hero and so on. I don't really like tournaments for foreigners with top tier Koreans.

Taeja has won that many in the space of about 6 months, at the least it is certainly an impressive achievement to be consistantly dominant like this.
Taeja didn't win any championships? He wont DreamHacks and HomeStory Cup and Asus ROG.. But he didn't win Blizzcon, Season Finals or anything considered a "championship" against the deserving best players in the world at that time so really "near-bonjwa" is just silly.

When Taeja and HerO can meet in ro8, all is well in starcraft land.

He would've had to play his Challenger Match right after his Ro16 Premier Group and not just the next day, no the same night. TaeJa forfeited because he was too tired. And that's fine because professional athletes forfeit because they are tired all the time. With little to gain and a lot to lose, yeah... they do. Nazgul came out and said that he had a redic schedule and was worsening his wrist problems if I remember right. So with no guarantee on the upcoming format of WCS why play the match and risk injury?
If this is true, then it's simply a problem with the system. Someone in the EU challenger played random because he didn't give a shit anymore since it meant little to nothing. If a match has almost no relevance, it's hard to convince the players to try hard for it unless they have a lot of pride.
Though to MajOr, people tend to be kinder to players they favor more. :/ We just need to get you on Liquid and get you a bunch of top finishes in major tournaments. Idk. People definitely have a double standard for their more favored players.

He played random because his internet connection was unstable that day and he couldn't play good that way, so he decided to just random it, because he would only fall to Group Stage.

Can't even beat elfi + Show Spoiler +Furthermore, you can argue that Taeja is "near-bonjwa" for 3,000 pages, but all you need is three letters to prove that he isn't: GSL
The guy hasn't won a single tournament in Korea, and he hasn't won a single official WCS event. Bitch please http://aligulac.com/results/search/?search=&after=&before=&players=taeja elfi&event=&bestof=all&offline=both&game=all&op=Search In these games, TaeJa is 6–4 (60.00%) in games and 3–2 (60.00%) in matches against elfi.
