Sorry BW fans. I know this is probably really devastating. I could see esports growing like this but didn't quite expect BW to die so fast. Well, I'm a BW fan too, but I like SC2 as well, so it's not that much of a loss for me.

Kespa really botched the timing on this transition. If they're going to switch to SC2 for the OSL, then why get locked into a full 3-4 month season of hybrid Proleague. The Kespa players have absolutely no chance to get good enough at SC2 in that short amount of time, especially since they're splitting time with BW. There's a very real possibility that no Kespa players will advance out of the qualifiers of this OSL. Which basically defeats the purpose of trying to transition to SC2 gradually. They should have restricted the OSL to Kespa players for the first season, and then open it up when Proleague switches over completely. Or they could have squeezed in one more BW OSL, and have the full transition of Proleague and OSL happen at the same time. Even a full transition to SC2 for Proleague instead of hybrid format would have made more sense. Once again, they've chosen the worst of both worlds approach.

WOW NICE! BW and SC2 players can play together! No not really. BW players won't be able to qualify, because they are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAD!

They haven't said when the next OSL will start right? Could be a long long time, the gap between last last and Tving was a long time. A few months will give a lot of the players a good chance to catch up.

Anyways, I am sad that BW had to go but I guess thats just a sign of our times. At least SC2 will do better in Korea I guess. BW had a hell of a run and I think we all should be happy that it did last so long and provided us with so many memories

Its too fast for the BW players.

Otherwise it's just gonna be a shitty bo3 opener before a sc2 series and ace match. That just doesn't seem right to me.

It really depends on how the BW scene develops after the OSL and KeSPA drops them and what the players who still decide to continue playing BW decide to do with themselves, if any sponsors will drop money to support the remainder of the scene on smaller prize pools, if KeSPA will allow that to happen (I'm unsure of what rights they have over BW and how far they'd go to discourage this), etc. I'll just say that if there are still players in Korea who can make a living off playing War3, then I'm positive that it's possible for BW players who have a much larger following in Korea.

RTS are pretty much dead in China. The last league is the G-League, for both SC2 and W3 and it isn't what it used to be... SC2 is a huge flop and is only played by former competitive BW/WC3 players. It's all about Dota.
