It really depends on how the BW scene develops after the OSL and KeSPA drops them and what the players who still decide to continue playing BW decide to do with themselves, if any sponsors will drop money to support the remainder of the scene on smaller prize pools, etc. I'll just say that if there are still players in Korea who can make a living off playing War3, then I'm positive that it's possible for BW players who have a much larger following in Korea. RTS are pretty much dead in China. The last league is the G-League, for both SC2 and W3 and it isn't what it used to be... SC2 is a huge flop and is only played by former competitive BW/WC3 players. It's all about Dota. I've heard that LoL has been getting big there too.
Do you know if G-League is going to still hold War3/SC2 for another season? Right now I'm keeping track of SW7, G-League, AWC, and some of the more minor cups being held where quite a few big names in both Korea and China consistently compete in.

Any Dota games are quite big there. China loves this type of game.

I like how people are really sad about BW dying, but when people stream OSL/Team Leauge, there's literally no ones watching

you do realize the most of the BW audience are much older and have jobs and other things right? they have work in the morning.
the foreign BW fanbase was always about a 1/20th of what the SC2 fanbase is right now.

Really sad to see this happen. Honestly didn't want OSL to be associated with SC2... But what to do.. :/
Long live BW

1000+ viewers on TL is pretty decent. We also are a few more thousands watching the Chinese stream. And most importantly, you forgot that in Korea, people were watching it on their TV during dinner = no stream viewers.
Time to stop using the word "literally" when you shouldn't.

BW ((((. Noooo!!!
You will be missed <3333.

I really feel sorry for all the bw fans but I have to admit, as someone who is way more into SC2, I'm so excited! The bw pros will be able to focus purely on SC2 and I cannot wait to see what they come up with.

I didn't know all of this could happen so fast to be honest.. Last year I would have expected bw to last till 2013-4 or something.

Also I don't think ESPORTSTV gives a live viewer count.

It does, it's usually <1000 , obviously because most people are watching through sayle, vlc, or one of the HD restreams.

lol? People trash sc2 on the bw forums all they want but its unacceptable to hold these views (however spiteful, especially the first quote)? Double standards bro.

I hope there will be long breack between ongoing OSL and next OSL so even some BW players might have chance to winone or two GSL players. In my opinion it would have been better to have one kespa players only OSL and then let them play all together
EDIT: Didin´t notice that the preliminaries will statrt in july.. This tournament is doomed unfortunetly
|
Jeez, only six weeks? Feels like the Kespa players are really being thrown under the bus. I hope that they'll be able to compete.

Err this is the last BW tournament whereas SC2 is still popular and growing, how in the world is it double standards? Dam I don't get people on this forums sometimes.

I wish I could have watched it live even once.

I normally wouldn't comment, but giving 3 middle fingers doesn't show a whole lot of respect either.
I love sc2 but I also really enjoy watching BW, and envy how well the game was designed.

And so BW shall go out in one final blaze of glory.
