Hmmm, the red health bars remind me of this one time when I played SC2 on someone's iMac, where the colors were all screwed up for the UI.
Unit portraits were blue, and health bars were red. It was a surreal experience, though at least I got some experience should this change occur in the expansion pack.
Anyways, I hope it is optional, as that would please both the people who want red bars and the people who don't.

Clearly the first game to ever do that

Uhm, I played the HotS campaign at gamescom and now I really wonder if they did implement this back then :O Can't actually remember...

Me personally i look for colors when trying to find the weak units so if there is more people like me out there then it does affect things, it changes the way you aproach things. Like i said I havent seen the video right now so I cant tell how much it affects it.
But listen theres no need to attack me simply becuase I have a different perspective on this change, and obvioulsy I cant make a better game then blizz I dont have those kind of resources and experiance, thats kind of a silly thing to throw at people who are simply offering user feedback on a product they enjoy.

if i was attacking you in particular i would've quoted you. i was simply stating a lot of people complain too much about such trivial things. omg no colors QQ

What about protoss shields?

I feel sorry for color blind people in a 200/200 vs. 200/200 brawl.
|
I don't actually like this...makes microing that little bit easier...

I don't think it would make any sense in multiplayer from a spectator's perspective. Think about it. One player's unit will be solidly red, the other the system we have now? Unless they make it so that one player has a solid red health bar and the other has a solid green health bar, it make no sense.
Which probably would make this a single player only feature, and multiplayer but only from the player's perspective.
I do hope its optional. I personally think it looks horrendous. But that's just in my opinion. .

I dont think red and pink will work very will, the colors dont contrast enough imo

This is cool for mirror matches (although I just installed stronger color mod and that fixed it) but when I have 60 zerglings of different states of health.. I need to be able to tell instantly. I can't do that if they're all red.

Why?
They would simply be in the exact situation they are in now. Although, they would be at a slight disadvantage, but it isn't like of a sudden it would be significantly worse for them :\

Bars on, gfx on lowest possible. Competitive mode: ENGAGED.

easy fix, when units get low on hp, red starts to fade into transparent. all done. close thread. thank me later
|
im so used to red = near death (low hp) units : /
|
God no... This is a bad idea. Colors as an indicator of how weak the unit is is much better than to indicate enemy units. Not only that, enemy units have different colors from your own. What point is there to even add this into the game?
|
Why do they have a health bars always on option anyway? It was much better the way bw implemented it.
|
What happens when the enemy's units get low on health?
|
So how about changelings, what happens with them?

I still don't like the Theme of this Heart of the Swarm. Instead of becoming a rampaging swarm of ruthless insects, as it should be; you have to become this watered down, soul searching, emotionally conflicted woman... who is trying to basically divide and ultimately pacify the swarm. That sounds really kick ass :/
That doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun to me. I know it's going to effect my outlook on the Zerg forever.
