They handed out business cards, and Puma was the one that took the discussions further. I don't want to blame Puma for this whole thing, but you honestly can't expect EG to say "Sorry, we can't talk to you further until I tell your coach". If the player wanted to discuss his options for employment, then really the onus is on him. It's like if you're getting applying job interviews while you already have a job.

I guess it's kind of a sensitive issue to me because my dad, an immigrant, deals with lots of bullshit politics in his job and often has to deal with having his arguments shot down not because he's wrong, but because other people are simply more articulate than he is.

"When did we have the time" Oh...how about when you thought sending puma a card instead of talking to various coaches about potential buyouts.... You know... right about then mister. You don't wait for shit to explode then want to talk it out - wtf is that . - edit also quoting my other post as to why this is bigger than just this: To be honest its safe to say that despite what is done here with the update on the OP about coach lee and the SC2 assosciation taking measures to prevent this - it is CLEAR that EG has fucked up something with the relations with korea and that cannot be lied. Whether it be destroying the koreans own inbuilt trust rather than contractual relation ship ( this inturn might trap future progamers into TERRIBLE contracts that are detrimental rather than good) so in the end people who are saying that this is nothing truly are blind and it is indeed thanks to EG.

I know that this has been said 50 times, and probably my response has been said 50 times as well. He was not a signed player, no contract. Who is his "management" as a freelance professional? There was nobody to talk to. The "management" is mad that they could not keep a player without paying him properly.

So, his publicly appologising for the situation and saying he'll speak with Mr Lee was driving the conversation away? Explain that to me please.

Do you think Puma will get better in North America with worse training partners and the North American server? No, he won't. From what AG alluded to earlier on the show, it seemed that EG was considering forming something inside of Korea -- maybe even the mythical Korean EG house. Either way, I don't think its probable that EG is getting Koreans without considering the effect that training and practice has on them.

You contact the agents first, to gauge interest. Then you approach management. Puma was to do the "approach management", it seems like it failed a bit.

He goes back to the growth of Esports because he has criticism of the korean "inclusive" method of doing it. And he has good reason to be critical of it as well, even in BW (which is much much larger in korea then SC1), most of the pros do not make a salary. What he is saying is that people should not think that foreigner teams picking up korean players is a bad thing, because it means more money for the players, which we all want. Thats why he gave the brazil example, as brazilian leagues do not pay as much as lets say european leagues, but brazilian players are still able to make money by playing in different leagues. Rain already left TSL, Coach Lee was fine with that. and like I said earlier in the thread, Puma isn't signed literally. That means, he hasn't sat down in the EG headquarters in the States, and wrote his name down on the carefully written contract. He's already left TSL, he's basically with EG, and like I said earlier, he's just in transit

It WAS an honor system (which is pretty big in korea). They all will be under contract really soon in korea.
