Also, please tell me they aren't planning to use octoshape because that's a non-starter for me.

I would like to know what this means exactly before I buy. Also, please tell me they aren't planning to use octoshape because that's a non-starter for me. Sure use Octoshape for a tournament that makes you pay through Justin.tv ![]()

I'm not going to lie, I had not seen that list of players, but I am still skeptical of NASL. Sure that list is pretty decent, but half those players are still code-A or below... so yes, it is not quite Major Leagues. Unless by Major League, you mean like Major League soccer, where a few old super stars come to retire and relax. Put it this way, I did not pay for GSL until like the Code-S stuff started, I watched it till then but didn't think it was worth buying till the 4th or 5th season or so, where they had established a very professional service and high-quality matches with the most premier players. NASL has big shoes to fill if they want money from people like me, who probably are satisfied/only have time to watch one big tournament at a time. Like I said before, this is not a major league cast. There's like 3-4 players here I really want to watch play, the rest I could really care less(as proven by how bored I was watching some of these foreigners in GSL). I will still probably try to watch some NASL matches if I find a chance to, it's not like i'm ruling it out completely. If the competition does get high enough and eventually starts to feel worth it, then I may consider it paying. But it took GSL several seasons for them to convince me it was worth paying, and NASL shouldn't expect anything different without proving themselves. And the way they have started out, with people on opposite ends of the spectrum, some (possibly NASL employees) blindly supporting it and bashing people who are skeptical, and others just so against it without full information(myself included I guess), it really creates a negative atmosphere. We'll just have to see once it actually starts up, but everything i've heard about it so far does not give me much optimism.

The most expensive program I know for producing a stream is Wirecast and its like 300$ I think. Xsplit does close to the same thing as Wirecast and its free. (Wirecast makes it 100000x easier, but yea). They are using JTV, not their own stream so really the only thing they are spending on it is the internet connection, which you can easily make back by running ads on JTV (assuming they get the numbers TSL does) So you don't think people should be compensated for their work? I'm not confident of the production values after the Clash of the Titans announcement match. I don't particularly like the casters. I don't really have time to watch GSL and NASL and I prefer the players in the GSL. I'm not particularly happy with the way they didn't seem to communicate with certain players who certainly deserve to be in the league. Have Justin.tv sorted their problems streaming to the EU? (they might have, i have no idea, havn't watched anything on there for a while). Complete lack of information on nasl.tv website, I don't care if it's only a temporary site, it should still have information like the start date and time. So yeah, they're my reasons for not buying it atm.

I agree that we need some sort of proof of quality before they can say its worth the money, but $20 is a very reasonable price for what we are promised so far.

Code A or below LOLOLOL You obviously don't watch the GSL. Not only are most of the Korean Invites in Code S but all of them are... better than IdrA.

If all turns well I will pay because then 25$ isn't that much for a big league! So I hope they will give us more informations soon and not only a short twitter message and some statements in SotG or unofficial threads. This. Yeah, the website is still crappy and does not show the essential. I was pretty dissapointed by the game between Idra and Jinro. I might get it, but not discount to regret it after.

NASL does one thing and one thing only. They are asking for 8$ a month compared to the 10$ GomTV asks but they don't put in nearly as much money/effort as GomTV does. It is too expensive. I could run a 1080p stream with very good production for absolutely no cost to myself other than internet bill, like I said before. They would be better off doing it like TSL and giving it for free at first, and then maybe season 2 they add this or something. Asking people to pay 8$ right off the bit is friggan ridiculous (don't get me started on the whole "minimal commercial interruptions" thing. GomTV didn't charge for anything when they first started out (you can still watch GomTV SC:BW tournament VODs)
