But other than that, the best players wont be playing here. Which means this isn't the most prestigious league. Which means it is not the MAJOR LEAGUES. If I am wrong about something, feel free to correct me, but I am under the assumption that they are doing their best to restrict Koreans and "foreigners"(non Americans in this case) from this league. Which is going to drastically lower the skill level and honestly I watch starcraft2 to see the best of the best, maybe others feel differently. GSL has two tickets per three months with an extra 5 bucks for the Team League. I don't know what kind of math they taught you in school, but for me this adds up to a grand total of $25 USD for a period of three months for an approximate of 230 something or more games whereas the NASL will provide more VODs in a better quality with players of very high skill levels with top notch commentary so really, you're paying the same for more content, just that in one you pay in instalments, the other is asking you for the money up front. I'm only undecided as to when will they schedule their broadcast times, so if that information does not come soon, I might have to pass up on the offer :S

» 24/7 Video On Demand access to all content (including weekly shows, analysis, highlights, and matches) » Minimal commercial interruption From a business standpoint, NASL broke a fundamental rule: don't compete with yourself. They already announced that their free stream will have a quality better than the GSL's high quality pay per view stream (so assuming 720pish?) so the incentive to pay is reduced by a lot. Along with that, the fact that both the pay per view and the free stream will have commercial interruptions is a negative as well. The only way to justify paying for less commercials is if the free stream is bombarded with 30 second commercials every minute - and in such case, most people would probably stop watching all together and just watch restreams or read live reports. So what people would be paying for is mainly access to the VoDs (analysis, weekly show, high lights of matches, etc seems basically like a pay per view version of State of the Game). Depends on how much discretionary income one has, but unless one says 'support e-sports!' (which is now becoming a money grab catch phrase very quickly), its hard to justify paying 20-25$ a season for VoDs of mostly mid level players.

Wow lol Best post ever haha I won't be paying for season one because I'm broke as fuck, but will watch nightly and be happy to watch the commercials. Can't wait for this to start!

Lets just consider movies for example, that's $15 for 2hrs of entertainment, sometimes it's really bad. Or even the infamous WoW, that's about $15 per month and this is 3 months -_____- And I hope re-streaming and posting links of pirated vods will be bannable so if everyone really want to help e-sports grow, we need to support it (I completely understand waiting a day or week before buying it though) Edit: After reading more posts, I think people are just trolling all over the place and probably hoping for some serious response from Russ or Incontrol Nope not trolling at all. I legitimately am not going to pay for this, or the GSL. But I'll watch it still, through the free stream. I don't want to have to pirate it, but if it comes down to it I will. Someday I'll have the money to spare, but I don't watch movies or play wow or watch TV. I have enough money for internet and food and heat, and not a penny more. It sucks that I can't pay to help support e-sports yet. Hopefully eventually I'll find a job, and then it'll be a different story. And I agree, posting pirated vods on TL should be bannable to uphold the integrity of the site.

The price tag is pretty reasonable unless you are so poor that you should probably be working instead of playing Starcraft in the first place. I mean, if thats the case then so be it and I don't begrudge people that literally can't afford it, but I get the impression that people are scoffing at the price tag out of some misplaced sense of entitlement. Precisely. Demonstrated production values did not show anything different (actually worse) from other western tournaments like TSL3 which we get to watch for free.

-when is the start of the league -at what time is the broadcast -who is casting (they said they will have other casters too) -how good are the casters Incontrol and Gretorp now (showmatch was...not so good) -what can I see without a pass and when (replays, vods) -how good is the production -can I watch the HQ stream without lags There is just a huge lack of information and I am not happy with the invites so I will think about it. If all turns well I will pay because then 25$ isn't that much for a big league! So I hope they will give us more informations soon and not only a short twitter message and some statements in SotG or unofficial threads.
