internet connection that can stream the NASL
But that assumes that everyone who watches movies would be equally interested in watching the NASL. Which is not true at all.

This has been discussed before. They're casting the games live and recording the live casting, and then streaming said recording the following day. It's the best way for them to solve the problem of synchronization errors and prevent cheating.
Just bought my pass, $20 is actually really solid for 3 months of content. I'm really excited for it.

If that is the case, then that is awesome. Granted I have been taking 100 percent of what iNcontrol was saying early on as fact. Silly me.

wow, my internet can handle 850kbps. This is perfect. Why buy premium?

GSL HQ is terrible quality so NASL will surpass GSL in stream quality and hopefully the content will also.

No, it'll be casted live, but not broadcasted live to ensure no cheating occurs. So the two players play, iNcontroL and Gretorp will be casting while the playing occurs. They will take the footage, do post, add production, then broadcast it the next day. Until there delay can be implemented reliably and such, this is the only way tournaments can ensure no cheating occurs. Any inkling of cheating or any suspicion of such will call into question the tournament's legitimacy.
That already makes it odd. How are they going to get all of the games casted, edited and ready to be broadcasted when they have to watch each match and some how schedule everyone to play at the right time before the broadcast date is set.
I will give them a chance though when they get paypal for the passes.

90% of us going just to watch free stream so why is everyone bitching? /rage
|
lol 25 dollar for 3 months is too much?
so strange, because when we bring up jobs on TL, it turns out everyone is making 250k+ year minimum and has 3 banging hot wives..
and now so much tightness over less than 10/month.
Wow lol

I can watch it live for free since it won't be on at 4 AM. Also I am not paying over double the price for a tourney with half the production values and skill of GSL. Seriously are you crazy NASL? How is esports suppose to grow in the west if they first thing people see is a company asking for 25$ to get involved...

That's more points for them, now we'll have to see how much sending the VODS off to the production crew pays off. I wonder what they're going to do with the VODS to make the production value good; maybe they'll cut to FP mode like in BW?

what? more than half of the people won't pay 20$ for 3 months of awesomeness that is (going to be) the premier western league? i just hope there will be a way to pay with paypal..
|
I'll prolly get the pass eventually. I like HD streams and VODs .
|
depends. I think the free stream will be on at a great time for me, so I'll just stick with that.

You wouldn't pay the same amount of $150 for a NBA D-league pass, regardless if the season was twice as long. Sports and competitive games are more fun to watch when played at the highest levels.. and NASL is basically the minor leagues of starcraft2, so if they want people to pay there needs to be much better reasons justifying the equivalent price tag to GSL. NASL is not the minor leagues of starcraft2.... your comparisons are waaaaay off lol
I don't understand what is off by my comparisons, maybe other people have their "favorite" players they personally follow and would like to watch, maybe making this league more attractive to them. But other than that, the best players wont be playing here. Which means this isn't the most prestigious league. Which means it is not the MAJOR LEAGUES. If I am wrong about something, feel free to correct me, but I am under the assumption that they are doing their best to restrict Koreans and "foreigners"(non Americans in this case) from this league. Which is going to drastically lower the skill level and honestly I watch starcraft2 to see the best of the best, maybe others feel differently.

Does anyone do maths anymore? Its $25 for 3 months of nearly constant content. With a player pool that all but guarantees some great games.

How are they going to cast every game live anyway? There's people from all around the world, meaning the players and gretorp and inc will be awake to cast it live. Will they have a set time that they all have to play? I doubt everyone will have the same schedule, so are the casters gonna be essentially on-call 24 hours a day 5 days a week?

Bought. I think I can afford to spend $20 on this and see if it's worthwhile. GSL has been worth every penny so far and I've consistently bought every season. The line up for this looks like there will be plenty of epic matches for me to enjoy.
Only problem is the time to follow all of it. =)

Were talking about the pay-for model which isn't live streaming it's VODs. As such, any internet connection could handle it with enough buffer time. It's isn't about equal interest, its about potential...market opportunity. Number of people who use internet vs number of people willing to physically go to a movie theater for entertainment.
This is a silly debate as it account for zero scaling of production costs and only works to support a superfluous point anyway.

If you think 25 dollars for 3 months of daily games for probably a few hours each day is too much, then you really need a job or something. That is such a minimal amount of money. Of course i will buy and if you want e sports to be successful then you should too

I have never heard him say that anywhere. Ever. It's been known forever that the games are going to be castet as they happen and broadcasted the day after.
