On second thought I like the protoss changes but that fungal change is pretty silly. As well as the larva "bug fix". Next we'll probably see "fixed an issue where workers would automatically begin mining when rallied to a resource patch"

terran lacks a good and cheap mobile detection compared to toss and zerg (mules dont count, they are to compensate for chrono boost and zerg macro and the scan last only 10 seconds and doesnt move)

I thought they were pretty good for a cloaked detector. They actually used to be cheaper in the beta, I think 50/50? A lot of this patch contains changes that don't make sense, like the flux veins, fg, bunker build time.

Spot on, this patch doesn't make sense. Can't wait for a situation report, I really want to know why Blizzard thought these notes was a good idea.

Likely similar for the Void Ray change last patch, where a pro player (Maka iirc) gave them feedback as to a particular abusive strategy that was too strong, so they nerfed it.

I am unable to comprehend why this would need to be changed? Its not gamebreaking and helps save your fingers when you need to morph 30-40 lings into banelings... oh blizzard.

My APM will increase by about 100 as I furiously spam E and click Morph to Baneling button. I guess I'll get used to it but.. uh, macro will be silly lategame.

yup, because playing zerg didnt take enough APM already. :/

Whoa, huge patch. I'm liking some of the changes, like Master's League, chat channels, etc.

Anyone think it'll be possible to integrate custom chat channels with ones in WoW? I'm thinking no, but it'll be cool.

It only says Larva, not lings. Maybe we can still hold down E for banelings.

(which is only fungal growth)

Wow these patches are amazing for protoss i was leaping on joy at the decrease of Observer cost. Now i wont feel so guilt when i pump 3-4 for banshee's. Not sure how i feel about flux vanes never even researched it once but HALLUCINATION TIME REDUCED HELL YEA. But fungal attacking air :/ I loved in ZvZ to fungal Mutalisk and watch them die

I am so so happy we are finally getting chat channels. I think it's understated how much of an impact its going to have on the community. People can just organize events randomly.

There will be a reason for non-pro's to idle on starcraft 2, instead of playing 2 games and logging off.

What Blizzard is trying to tell me is that phoenix are now invincible? It's 100% impossible to kill them now, unless the protoss does something ridiculously stupid. Awesome, why the fuck was that necessary?
What if protoss learned to micro and spread their phoenix out to minimize fungal effect instead? I mean.. what the hell?

Other than obvious nice things like chat channels, I'm really not fond of the balancing. I don't get why they changed the void ray either, how was the speed upgrade in need of removal? Bunker build time again, why?

No, I don't get it.

what? how is it 100% impossible to kill them? they are JUST like mutas in how easy they are to kill.

u realize that to use gravitron whatever-the-fuck the protoss has to stop moving the phoenix right?

Just like mutas, except
Faster
More hp
Bigger range
Smaller attack cooldown

No counter in zerg army

u forgot to add *don't hit ground*
and
*shots dont bounce*
*costs 50% more gas*

since we are counting everything

they do hit ground with graviton beam
they do significantly more damage even if you count bounce damage.
But how would i expect someone who comes to an arguement not even knowing how much the unit theyre arguing about cost.
Youre either completely clueless or are a troll.

yeah, i wrote gas instead of minerals, so im completely clueless!
wtf is ur problem
and they don't hit ground with gravitron beam. they pick stuff up, which other phoenixes can hit because it's in the air. which also causes the phoenix that picks it up to stop moving, during which any zerg could hit it because it can't run away.

yes, im aware u know all this, but im just affording u the same courtesy u showed me

i love how ridiculously butthurt u get over this shit, because i dare to say that phoenixes aren't impossible to kill.

allright. Straight up i know you know this and i realize youre just trolling and probably not even aware of this. I read your other posts in this thread where you backtrack on your anti-fungal growth claims.
Between that and claiming that zergs win tournaments, you know, just cut down on the trolling, aye?

are u actually arguing that zerg don't win tournaments? u don't think gsl counts for anything?

and i never backtracked on anything. i clarified for people who like to make assumptions

see, trolling, you know exactly what i mean but you ask those enticing questions i cant help but answer

btw you're stupid. I may not agree completely with travis but labeling everything he posts as trolling just makes you into a retard.

dont you just love his custom avatar?

I dont think its changing for banelings, it just says larva.

Excuse me, it's 5 am. Read the quoted post and didn't think of the actual notes. Same difference anyhow, 200/200 vs 200/200 battle aftermath will be hilarious.

so you would rather have 1 click to morph all your larva into certain unit? that sounds pretty terrible

one key press will only morph one egg, but holding the hotkey will morph all eggs (the way it currently stands), i think you miss-understood the way the mechanic currently works. can anyone on the test server confirm that this has been changed. in that you can no longer hold the "z" to mass morph ling.

I don't think this will affect morphing lings into blings since they said larva.
however i do disagree with this change.

- Fixed an issue where Larva could produce units by holding down hotkeys.

Wtf that was a bug? If you were playing Zerg and had 30 larvae, and you want to make 30 batches of lings, you could hold Z and it'd make the 30 relatively fast after like a 2 second delay. Why is that possibly a bug, or am I reading this correctly?

Love the changes, with the exception of the bunker change, and I'm also skeptical on the Infestor FG change. Wouldn't that make it much harder to counter Phoenixes? I'd rather see it still work on air units, and work more like ensnare from SC1 (I think ensnare was just overall a better spell, just harder to use, would get great use in SC2, as remember it cut down the fire rates of most units it was cast on. Even if it was only just a slowdown and not stoppage, I'd prefer it that way, just cooler imo... at least they could still split from banes, etc.).

What? Alright. Race switching. No good spells and no macro ability I'm out. I hate to be sensationalist but this shit is fucking wacked. Fucking whacked.

fungal growth not hitting air makes sense for the storyline... they throw globs of green liquid up to 10000meters up?

kinda cool if they like using bcs/ravens...

and SCVS repairing Battlecruisers 10000 meters up in the air makes perfect sense.

Stalemate protection with 3 minutes is definately too short, should be 5 minutes at least. Imagine the following: You are zerg, don't have a spire, kill his base, he isn't defeated, you immediately start a spire, which alone takes 100 seconds, another 37 seconds to get mutas out (100/100 each) and they will probably need to fly for at least 40 seconds to get to his lifted cc AND mutas take forever to kill a cc, so a terran in this situation can force a draw out of most games.
Should be more than 3 minute or/and the condition should be that a building is attacked, not destroyed.

Interesting situation. My best idea is that you could buy yourself more time by building and destroying an extractor.

Fungal Growth no longer affects air units.

Yay, every mirror's going to be either an early 1-base allin or mutas vs mutas, terran drops will be even stronger, protoss air is gonna be a nightmare, especially phoenix with their new build time.I also think that fungal growth was overpowered vs large clusters of air units since they bunch up so much.
A good implementation would imo be something like: "Hits every ground target in the target circle, but is applied to random 4 (number I think that would be fair) air units in the target circle. "

while this does suck, we'll get through it. I mean, my first thought was "OMG this is gonna be a nightmare" too, but thinking about it, I didn't actually use infestors that much before. I got mutas against Terran drops, and hydras (or occasionally corruptors) against Protoss air.
