De Gea Deal as it Happened
1. Man Utd agreed to start negotiations yesterday.
2. Real Madrid initiated conversation.
3. Man Utd would only do deal if it included Navas.
4. Both clubs agree deal & Madrid send documents to Man Utd at 12.39pm.
5. United replied at 8.39pm asking for some changes which Madrid agree to immediately.
6. Madrid send contracts to Man Utd at 10.32pm & wait for Man Utd to send them back signed.
7. Man Utd agree deal with Navas at 10.53pm and then contract sent to Navas to sign.
8. Man Utd logged in on TMS to log details of De Gea deal, not Navas at 11pm, deadline point in Spain and simultaneously send contracts to Madrid. Madrid receive documents at 11.02pm and tries to access TMS but is closed down
9. 11.26pm TMS invites Madrid to introduced details of De Gea because the transfer deadline is next day. Madrid, in case there was room to get done, decide to send contracts to league even though they know deadline has passed.
10. Madrid have done everything they could at all times for deal to take place.

I would assume transfer market system? I guess they have to log into a system online and put player id in it or something i have no idea. But must just be a system the FAs across the world use to register players.

Gala failed to sign Grosskreutz too. They send it 48 seconds later.
Im so happy! We have Sabri and Umut already. I cannot handle another skilless but hardworking player.

Arsenal are the ONLY club in Europe’s top five leagues not to sign an outfield player this window.
Fun being an Arsenal fan :D

They can always play De Gea or Valdes (who also failed to find new club), even angry De Gea should be better than Romero.
|
Huh? They're stuck with de Gea. Unless de Gea refuses to play or dicks around in other manner. Seeing as De Gea is still a world class keeper, that doesn't seem too bad.
If anything, Romero got royally shafted here. Rather than battling it out with Navas for the position of first keeper (a battle I think he would absolutely lose, but at least had a chance), he is relegated to 2nd keeper behind de Gea, or if Valdes is kept under contract, even 3rd keeper.
If ManU has a heart, though, they should disband Valdes' contract, and let him leave transfer-free.

You should really add the disclaimer:
"According to Real Madrid"

Romero did not get shafted. He was signed to be the 2nd choice keeper pretty explicitly. He came on a free, and only because of his good relationship with LVG, literally nobody else wanted him. If anything he was fortunate that LVG suddenly decided to send DDG to the stands.
I'm sure they would release Valdes from his contract since LVG wants nothing to do with him anymore. But who will want to pay him as much as United? Not sure if Valdes wants to be released.
On the whole I think it would have been a good deal for United to have Navas, but I'm sure DDG will do a fine job until he leaves. They can always get Navas later, or if Madrid don't want to sell to them get someone like Lloris. Costs them a bit of extra money, but money is the least of United's problems.

Actually it will not be surprise if Van Gaal refuse to use him until the next transfer window.

I would be very fucking surprised if De Gea doesn't become first choice again this month. He will be a professional and serve out his contract. Now that the uncertainty about the future is gone, there is no reason to consider his focus on United anymore. The EURO is coming and he will have to work hard or Casillas will start ahead of him. Not to mention that he still potentially has to convince Madrid he is better than Navas.
But the most convincing reason is that Romero seems pretty awful compared to DDG.

Well if Man U got the balls, bench De Gea until he signs a new contract. Not playing will cost De Gea quite a bit but cost Man U "only" 29m pounds and Navas.
|
After Romero awful weekend i wont be surprise if De Gea goes back to the starting XI, like Lenn said, he might be "free" next season but that also means if he doesnt play his salary might go down quite a bit
