What do we get for it? Giacomini and Decker? Decker's contract is silly and Giacomini is pretty average. We NEED a strong, experienced corner at a good price to help out Milliner and Wilson for the free agency period to be a success. There are definitely options, like Munnerlyn, Rodgers-Cromartie,and Aaron Ross. I would even be open to a short term, incentive-laden contract to bring back Cromartie. He can play when he's healthy, but his hip injuries kept him from turning and running with receivers on deep routes last year. Giacomini is well above average. Guy was probably the toughest player on the Seahawks. He got his penalties under control, actually turning it around to draw out personal fouls against the other team. Bodyguard to Russell Wilson, his loss will be quite noticeable, it showed when he was injured earlier in the year. The numbers haven't been released but you probably got a great deal. The Decker deal isn't that bad at all, considering they aren't paying him a whole lot. Now he is what the #1 there too? You should honestly be happy you didn't get baited into overpaying Revis for one year.
We probably got a good deal on Breno, especially since the contract Oakland gave Austin Howard was completely insane, and Idzik knows him from when he was in Seattle. Decker's obviously an enormous upgrade over Kerley and Hill, one of whom has limited physical tools and the other is a gigantic bust, but 15 Million guaranteed is a lot for a player who won't duplicate his production from last year, when you consider who's throwing him the ball. I realize you have to throw around some money in order to compete in the NFL, but I've never been wowed by Decker.
Except when he trips over his own feet, but that's more of a "what the hell" wow than anything else.
Although as a Jets fan, I'm used to those...

If Talib gets 10 million a year after never playing a full season, Revis getting 12 after proving himself fully healthy is a steal. He's worth more than 12, and the patriots where lucky to get him. That being said Browner could be a steal. Talib hasn't proven worth of the amount he got. Broncos all in on their closing PFM window. He was just the best available at the time. Revis with the Patriots works because Tom Brady accepts to be paid in peanuts compared to the rest to win games. It will be a fun story to follow, "Was Revis worth it?" etc.

Decker is just a product of Peyton Manning. Watch him flutter and fail in New York. (before you point to his season with Tebow, that season was just flukey)

that and Tebow had magical powers. how else could a QB with the accuracy of a blind archer win a playoff game?

Question for all: how stupid is the Lions brass? They have no money and then overpay Golden Tate?

Why would they do this? Is there something going on with Gabbert that we don't know about?

Adding sproles and signing cooper and maclin is gonna make the eagles offense deadly. All they need now is to draft a stud wr

Dude had all of the measurables coming into the league, he was just forced to play for a mess of a franchise.

Yeah thats the truth
btw what are the bills doing to replace byrd? not taking a shot at the team here, just wondering who they were looking at. Nate Allen is available if you want his sorry ass lol

I actually think Sproles to the Eagles is a little bit of a weird pickup. Mccoy is more of a shifty guy and is great as an out of the backfield receiver (averaging over 50 catches a season over 5 seasons) and Sproles is an out of the backfield receiver in most situations. I guess they will try to shift Mccoy to more of a 2 down rusher and make Sproles the third down back? I guess Sproles will help them on special teams as well.

I expect 2 back sets from Chip Kelly, I cant see mccoy on the bench for any third down, he was extremely productive on third down last year.

Nate Allen is available if you want his sorry ass lol Should be to just play Nickell Robey, who played well in his time as the nickelback last season. They have been quite public about not valuing the position that highly, which is why we knew they weren't going to be able to re-sign Byrd. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that they've been so forward with their view on the position that anyone who has us drafting a safety in the first round is an idiot.

2 back sets with Jackson outside is... scary. I agree that if anything Sproles is a boon to their special teams. Obviously Shady is the starter still, but I trust Sproles in the backup spot more than Brown or Polk. Maclin coming back too? Ouch.
Going forward though, Kelly's mindset should be 90% defense, 5% WR, 5% best available. As an Eagles fan I'm a little afraid Kelly will start grabbing best available offensive players in the draft over defensive ones, essentially out-clevering/thinking himself. There is a very good chance this will be the best offense in the NFL (competing with Broncos for #1 again). Please fix the problem spots now!
Jenkins at safety and Carroll at CB are a great start. Was surprised to see that Carroll was 4th best in the league last year at completion % against.

I think they are 100% going forward with the best player available mindset, hopefully with that focus on the defensive end of the ball though

Pats have either signed or are very close to singing browner as well. I need to change my pants.
Or maybe he isn't close at all. Its three guys media people with three different opinions, so I'll mention all of them. And another vote for him signing tomorrow. I have no idea whats going on at this point, but I am excited.

If Browner comes in and plays even decent press that's a solid defensive backfield with dennard, revis, browner, mccourty; which has been a glaring weakness for the pats over the last few years.

I am interested to see the Iggles fortunes with teams having a full year on that offense, and them playing some better defenses.
