damnit, just got the news about the Jets releasing Cromartie. I was really hoping he could stay on with a restructured contract, since our secondary is really young and inexperienced. Sure, he could be a distraction and is coming off a rough season, but he struggled with injuries this year and he was excellent the year before without Revis. He could come back on a new deal but I'm not banking on it... I'm really worried about Dee Milliner and Kyle Wilson being our starting corners, though we could make a run at a guy like Alterraun Verner...

Giving him a two year deal would be super smart for Seattle. Doesn't lock up money for the huge contract they're going to have to give Wilson, and it provides them an excellent pass rusher to keep them relevant in the interim.

Agreed that the figure is good, but is it a good decision for Seattle? The contracts are coming for Sherman, Thomas, and Wilson, and they're all going to be getting raises. Where will the money come from? Some hard decisions are going to have to be made unless they want to go the way of the Steelers.

The way the cap raises it might not be much work at all. That and when Wilson/Sherman come up for their payday, Lynch/Okung/Miller accept their paycut or just get cut/traded. Homer but I don't think we see Wilson asking for top 4 QB money. Sherman can ask for the sky, Seattle may not offer what he wants. Sucks if he goes, but its whatever. They've already made it clear Thomas is the one they want to keep if it comes down to that. Plus they have good depth at CB anyways. It will be an interesting draft.

I hope to be entertained tomorrow.

Good points. From what I've heard, the cap could be up in the $140M range next year and $150M the year after, so it would make sense for them to spend reasonably every year and still be able to make the deals.

All this excitement for Seattle. Finley's first visit will be to Seattle. 2 of their FA's have already been signed elsewhere, with another looking like he found his place elsewhere already. Plus with Sherman possibly going to start a campaign to get Ware.

Bennett's deal was actually $28.5m instead of the $34 initially reported. $16 guaranteed, but in light of the Griffen that GTR posted I don't think its a bad deal. Hometown discount indeed
