if they get one of jared allen/julius peppers/demarcus ware to solidify their pass rush - they are clear contenders for the afc.

Shame the Chargers can't make any free agency splashes.

I was shocked to see how much money Denver has to play with. When I saw the numbers the gave on Talib, my immediate reaction was, there goes there magic DE. Then I looked further, they still have slightly less than 20mil to play with -.- Sounds like now the only team Ware will be visiting is Denver. I guess pushing Allen closer to Seattle, which is going to be quite the task to make work. Plus the additional Hatcher talk. Damn all of this WR depth in the draft that Seattle won't get to play with. Hello OL. "Jets making strong push to sign Seahawks free-agent OT Breno Giacomini, who's on his way to visit team Wednesday." Please no, but I would honestly rather have Paul McQuistan.

When you think about it, they have so much money because Manning is that sort of QB you can surround him with bad players and can still score points. They have no need for Decker/Moreno anymore, which the two combined would have probably been at least $15m against the cap. Their best players on offense are still on their rookie contracts (Thomas and Thomas) so no big hit to the cap there as well. Unfortunately though, it seems DRC's days in Denver are over with the Talib signing. He's a great corner when motivated to play. A 6'2" CB with 4.3 speed is rare in today's NFL.

Yea I forgot all about Moreno. Well with Talib gone, DRC could use some of that Bill Belichick magic. Then again the bar Talib set will probably be too high for the Patriots wants.

What do we get for it? Giacomini and Decker? Decker's contract is silly and Giacomini is pretty average. We NEED a strong, experienced corner at a good price to help out Milliner and Wilson for the free agency period to be a success. There are definitely options, like Munnerlyn, Rodgers-Cromartie,and Aaron Ross. I would even be open to a short term, incentive-laden contract to bring back Cromartie. He can play when he's healthy, but his hip injuries kept him from turning and running with receivers on deep routes last year.

Partriots drank the koolaid, they would have been better trying to work with DRC. At least they are partially returning to their senses and possibly going to get a steal of a deal on Browner. Guy was probably the toughest player on the Seahawks. He got his penalties under control, actually turning it around to draw out personal fouls against the other team. Bodyguard to Russell Wilson, his loss will be quite noticeable, it showed when he was injured earlier in the year. The numbers haven't been released but you probably got a great deal. The Decker deal isn't that bad at all, considering they aren't paying him a whole lot. Now he is what the #1 there too? You should honestly be happy you didn't get baited into overpaying Revis for one year.

He was the number one CB last year according to PFF in a subpar scheme last year and its impossible to rank him less than third in the league with out looking stupid. If Talib gets 10 million a year after never playing a full season, Revis getting 12 after proving himself fully healthy is a steal. He's worth more than 12, and the patriots where lucky to get him. That being said Browner could be a steal.
