Our interior defense (which hasn't been good all season) has been terrible tonight. We've gotten nothing out of any of our bigs in terms of shot contesting on lay ups and drives.

I guess he could be 5.
EDIT: Oh lord, Jason Kidd. Yeah, Jason Kidd.
what happened to brooks? I remember he was considered one of the best coaches after 2012 finals
The team plays the same as it did after the 2012 finals, minus Harden.
Thunder routinely miss major defensive assignments and run one of the least sophisticated offenses in the league, primarily relying on Durant and Westbrook's absurd athleticism. He's not making much with the parts he was given.

Spoelstra still gets a lot of credit despite his big 3. Brooks could still do plenty with OKC but just doesn't beyond giving Durant a shit-ton of minutes and getting angry at refs.
What? Miami does run the best offense in the NBA, and happens to have 2 great weapons. What NBA games are you watching? Each of the last 3 years, they've added a new major set to their offense.
It's Miami and the Spurs, but Miami can run more systems because Lebron moves everywhere. The difference between 2014 and 2012 Miami and OKC is exactly why we don't consider Brooks a good coach.
Watch the Indiana series again. Not considering Spo a proven or good coach is just plain ignorance.
That's like a third of their commonly run stuff. There's a bunch of other horn sets they run, plus the regular p&r, Lebron post motion and triangle stuff.
Biggest difference this year is probably how much Chalmers and Cole get to initiate the offense, rather than Lebron.
Having the best players is a mark against in my eyes. You aren't the most skilled boxer because you can punch through a wall. And if diagrams were championships, Larry Brown would have more rings. He's unproven from the standpoint that he hasn't built a good team from the ground up. He has a team full of some of the best players at their position and HoF role players. He doesn't have to motivate, he doesn't have to teach, all he has to do is call a play. And great job with Michael Beasley, but do that with 2-3 other yahoos on your team and no veteran leadership and I'll be impressed.
Frankly the whole team is tarnished by the embarrassment of riches. Miami won two championships, great. But don't take a team that shouldn't normally exist, be handed the 1st seed on a silver platter (easiest 2nd half schedule in the league) and get taken to two game 7s by salary cap teams and expect me to sing your praises.
