To clarify, I mean, being more skilled than your opponent should be rewarded in SC2, and I didn't mean to imply that Strelok doesn't have skill - he's definitely quite a strong player from what I've seen from him. However, I simply don't see how Strelok is the one who deserves success over IdrA when in a straight up match IdrA appears to be coming up the winner. However, if Strelok comes back and 3-2's Idra then I definitely concede that Strelok deserves the win as well.

HuK(Dreamhack/HSC3, 1st MLG raleigh, MLG with koreans, RO8 Code S), Jinro(2 code S RO4, 1 MLG), Stephano(DOMINATION at IPL 3, ESWC) and NaNi(Owning foreign scene at Dallas into 2nd place TLS3 into MLG global invitation with NesTea MVP, 2nd place in MLG with most koreans ever) have the most impressive accomplishments. IdrA is almost up there with his IEM, and MLG, Asus ROG stars invite. But only one win with Koreans in it imo make it less impressive.

Other than an invitational which isn't really in high regard. iem is a pretty big deal, considering that esl has paid out more money in e-sports than any other organization (16 million i believe the number that carmac said)

I think the matches are ordered by seeding ... which is still stupid. This is what happens when you manage the 'process', not the 'product'. On paper, the tournament is trying to do everything in a logical, diplomatic way -- even if it hurts the viewer experience and their own self-interest. That's pretty much NASL's achilles heel. They care more about be 'fair' or 'logical', when they should worry more about producing a great product.

I like that Idra, Huk, and White-Ra are guys who have consistently been at the top of the scene since the beta. A lot of players have had great 2-3 month stretches but few others have had their longevity.

He's won two big tournaments. The small online ones usually aren't counted.

His best result was to get out of a group with Way and Iaguz at Guanzhou, which isn't that impressive at all. At ESWC he got third in a group with only Nerchio as another strong player. Online a case can be made that Strelok is the best terran, just as Nerchio was the best performing zerg. Those online results just have not carried over into live tournament play. It's really too bad because I thought Strelok would become one of the best performing foreigners after he upped his training. Instead he has been beaten out by players like Axslav and Gatored.

I really like it actually, it sounds awesome, but is it a thing with different languages translating stuff differently? Maybe some Euro viewers can enlighten me. Might just be a european thing like you suggest, us europeans are quite wierd actually, I use the swedish version of 'quite' in quite a lot of my sentences, come to think about it
