I'm guessing it's new, as I have never seen it before today and I've now lost to it 4 times today. What do? Assuming you are talking about Commander + Molten Giant + Brewmaster, it's not new at all. It's the old Warrior OTK combo. The truth is, over the long haul, it is not very reliable. It's hard for me to provide any suggestions without knowing what class you are playing. In general, watch VERY carefully what HP the warrior has and how much mana he has. Keep count of how much damage he can do in one turn with the mana he has. Don't drop the Warrior below 12 hp unless you know you can kill him outright (and you know he can't kill you outright). Use taunts / save them for when you want to go for the kill and drop him below 12. Beating OTK is mostly a math problem with tons of variables: How much damage can you do to him, how much damage can he do to you, what taunts/spells you have to prevent his damage, etc. You have to play pretty safe whenever the warrior is sub-15hp and hold off on damage if he can kill you in one turn.

I think the magic number is 11 health. Warsong commander costs 3. Two young pandas cost 4. That leaves 3 available so if he has 11 health he can drop two 1 drop molten giants twice and then pick up one and drop it again. 10 life is better though. I saw it twice yesterday and I think the trick is just to recognize it and make sure you don't bring them to that level, but also that they can't bring themselves to 11 life. That 3 extra mana means that if they equip a fiery war axe, they can deal damage to themselves by swinging one of your guys to bring themselves to under 11 life. The full combo with 2 brewmasters and 2 molten giants is 38 damage so it's not a question of staying out of their kill range unless you're a druid or warrior with a ton of armor. It's a very cool deck.

I'm starting to realize that playing around lightning storm is a terrible idea with an aggro deck. Trying to avoid it means just getting shredded by rock biter, fire elementals, forked lightning, lightning bolt, etc. Might as well bet against them having it and go more all in.

- I can't seem to fit much card draw in my shaman deck (I run 2 novice/1 azure drake, that's it), so I always sort of have to rely on drawing a Lightning Storm, and honestly some matches where I don't I often straight up lose because even though I have alot of removal I just can't keep up (Stormforged Axe is incredibly efficient but I still take damage using it, so just keep dropping stuff). - Assuming I do draw into Lightning Storm (which is probably the issue you are facing), I do win the matchup most of the time if I get one, but the matches I lose are to warlocks who use a combination of leeroy or arcane golem combined with power overwhelming/soulfire to deal the last 10-15 damage. If I face warlocks with these finishers it sometimes feels that I just have to draw both an Earth Elemental and a Lightning Storm to be able to win those matches. I don't really think there's too much skill behind the matchup, it feels entirely up to draws from both side over half the time. As long as you don't give the shaman too good trades (such as having a Knife Juggler/Flame Imp die by one Forked Lightning) you should just go for face. Rockbiter and Stormforged Axe are annoying but the shaman still takes damage.

In Arena mode, what's the benefit of staying long in there? Are there any charts about dust and cards I can get from winning 1,2,3,4,5,6 games?

Do you have axe vs. I have ooze? Do you have lightning storm if I flood? Hex for Sylvanas/Rag? I play kind of scared because of how versatile Shaman can be, but I forget they can't have every card all the time.

I'd also like to see a chart of the rewards for Arena wins. I'm saving up gold but I think I'm probably better off buying a few packs. My luck is the worst. On December 27 2013 14:33 Complete wrote: what happens if you switch an enraged minions health and attack? before and after enrage is activated afaik enrage is just a 1 time trigger from damage. The switch should work as you'd expect but wouldn't trigger it. Scratch that, see below; Certain minions posses an Enrage effect. The benefit of Enrage (usually an increase in damage) is active while the minion is not at full health. The Enrage effect is updated dynamically, meaning that if a minion is healed to full health, they will lose their Enrage.

Anyway, when it comes to deck building, what are the mana curves like generally for some of the common deck types? For example, is a typical aggro deck linearly downhill or is it more y = 1/x shaped? Is a control deck flat or humped? And while we're at it, what's a good ratio of minions:non-minions for some of those types?
