What a day,one of the important elections of the decade. Not a big fan of Europe in its current state but going back is hardly an option. So many big issues to deal with at the moment. Britain can easily leave, they not even in the euro. Its basicly a formality, just renegotiate trade agreements. lots of work for lots of well paid government clerics, they probably wont mind. But the psychological impact of one of the strongest countries leaving would be huge,it would severely weaken Europe and probably strengthen the resistance against Europe in specially the northern countries. If leave would win then I still doubt Britain would leave the eu,its not a binding referendum I now know. Off course Cameron cant ignore the result without commiting political suicide but he has a lot of time. All the negotiations that have to take place. Before you know it you are 2 years or more down the road and nothing has changed. Then maybe the world looks completely different again which might compel Britain to stay in after all. O well, will be an interesting day tomorrow.

Now I know for sure I wont sleep,ha ha. The pound vs dollar is interesting. Should take a look at the chart of the last 30 years. Its been between 1.40 and 2.00 with a median of about 1.60. If you look at this chart over this time then the pound is already near the bottom of the range, not a sign of strength at all. Maybe it can go to parity if England leaves and usa starts to tighten first, who knows.

O well, will be an interesting day tomorrow. You realise that the vote closed 2 hours ago right? I don't see any chaos or any reason to recount. If there's a recount it'll just be +2 hours not an extra 3 days. There's no problem with the results of different areas trickling in as time passes as they would count the results at different speeds. It's only to be expected that different areas have different counts.

50 of the 382 voting areas have now reported turnout, and the average is 71%. #EURef 7:31 AM - 24 Jun 2016

UK has sensible laws about how long a campaign can go, my country has been campaigning for the last 2 years of the Obama Administration. I assume we make a bigger show out of stuff than most just to be safe. Should be an interesting evening.
