I've been keeping my Worg Hide Quiver as a bag for all these years, hoping it'll some day become visibe again. Oh that's true... we had munition at some point... When was they removed ? BC ? They got removed in Cata ( you still could craft arrows, in fact crafted arrows were the highest dps one in the game ). They had some plan to make something else out of it but it just got scrapped
Oh it was that late ? Didn't remember that. But i think i bought LK with cata.

It's amusing that they admit the Valor quest was a mistake and yet they continue to leave it in the game while, at the same time, making the other parts of the quest chain easier.

A quick buff is easier to make than restructuring the quest chain, and they have a new expansion to worry about right now.

Restructuring? It would have taken less time for them to change the amount of Valor needed from 3,000 to 500 and edit the quest/achievement text that goes with it than it took them to create a brand new spell for the drop rate buff.

Dude, disc priests are left with flash heal and power word: shield currently, so you don't have it that bad

I really want to get back into the game, but WoD seems so far away..what are the latest estimates on release date?

Somewhere between September and in time for Christmas sales is what most people seem to think. Some people leaning towards the former, some people more close to the end of November.

Christmas 100% imo. The beta isn't even close to being up yet (currently alpha consists of one zone, up to lvl 92, horde only), so there is still a lot of work to be done.
And now, our regular "Serejai shits on WoW developers" segment! Stay tuned, we'll be back in a few posts!

Hey guys,
I'm looking for an addon that helps me create "fake quests" or a item tracking addon of some kind and i can't find what i'm looking for so before trying to make my own and reading countless threads on how the API works i was wondering if someone knows something about what i look for.
I'm looking for an addon that helps me create quest and objective for myself like for exemple getting 20 iron bars. Each time i found / make one, i would have the objective refreshing. That could be done for multiple objects, or mobs since i could create a quest : "kill X type of mob".
If this thing does not exists, is there an addon that can help me track what i want. For exemple i need silk and i want to highlight it in my bags, AH or bank. Is there a way to do that ?
And is there a way to have something displayed on mobs like : "You killed X number of this mob" ?
If all of that doesn't exist, is there a tutorial well done about making an addon ? i know my way around XML but i like concrete tutorial more than just theory and manuals.

Why would you need an addon for it lol, its not hard to keep track of, make a list or something. What i personally used to do is if i needed a bunch of stuff i would space it out in my inventory so i knew how much i had to fill up to get it.

I know there's an add-on that counts the number of a certain item across bank, inventory, and alts bank/inventory on the server, but not the AH. I don't remember it's name, but I know it exists! (I also never used it to know how well it works, so also that. I know, least helpful comment ever!)
Also, you can make a macro that displays the number of a certain item, but it only works in your inventory:
#showtooltip itemname
where itemname is the name of the item you want to track.

@arb because i am doing a lot of thing at the same time, upping my tailoring, enchanting, doing 5réputation at a time etc.. etc... and why would i want it ? Because i like that And because i need a lot of stuff since i'm doing this while still farming mounts and doing the legendary sword the ... "searchwind" ? And it's custom objective. I like that.
@hasuprotoss yeah you're thinking at Althoholic but i can't configure what i want to highlight
I'll try the showtooltip. I guess the # is a / in reality ?
Bagon is doing the same thing as althoholic so it's not what i'm looking for
But thanks for the answers

Beta should be up by the end of the month and the WoD release will be "no later than November" from what I've been told by multiple devs. So, in this case, there's nothing to shit on because I think both of those time frames are acceptable
I can bitch about how they are gutting Druids, though, if you want.

The Thunderfury quest isnt all that bad, i dont think it has near as many parts as Sulfuras, and the only thing to really farm is the Elementium Ingots from BWL, and i think you can get those in a day if you just reset over and over.

I... uh... what? It might be easier to figure something out if you describe the end result; ie what you want this information for. On one hand it sounds like you just want to track numbers... in which case a very simple combat log parser would do the trick. You could export it to a spreadsheet or keep it in-game via LUA and integrate it into an addon. I'm sure it's been done before.
On the other hand your line about highlighting silk in your bags can easily be done with nearly any bag addon. Just use the Search bar and type in "Silk Cloth" and everything else will get blacked out so you only see the silk cloth.
You can also use addons like Altoholic to track across multiple characters/banks/servers and whatnot. There are loads of inventory management plugins out there.

Well maybe i mistyped what i wantied to ask (english not my maintongue).
So i would love to have an addon like i used to have that could create "fake quest". Quest was created by dropdown list and was simple (but that addon is nowhere to be found as i don't remember it's name).
- First dropdown was : " Kill / Collect" - Then you had a number - Then you could search a list of items (exemple : Silk Cloth) or monsters : Murloc. - Then you could put coordinates. (and a button could be click for : "where i am"). - And random text could be added
The addon worked with tomtom. I used to be the farmer of my guild so when they asked me for an item i would create a quest then when it was complete i would click the complete button or the "reset" button. Was quite handy. There was a database with it (like .. silverdragon have for exemple).
But if i cannot find this type of addon. I was looking for a kill tracker (so i know how many of this type of mob i killed) or for the highlight i wasn't thinking of that type of highlight with the seach (i already have that).
It's more like you CHOOSE from a list or something items you want to track (exemple : silk cloth again) and the item appears with a green background (like certain addons do for receipes that you don't have but can learn) so you don't sell items that you want to keep.
"Well it's silly, you know what you want to keep"... well... yes and no. For exemple i like collecting and crafting and i can't remember all component i can use for craft (yeah i even craft grey items) so i need to highlight a lot of things. Craft or reputation or quest item like the legendary one.
Or maybe i'll try to see if there is a custom tooltip items (like you add notes to objet for you) the idea just popped so i'm going to look at that too.
For those who ask "why oh why", i play the game very differently than people. I play alone and i just... collect things. Going in raids or doing dungeons heroic 90level isn't appealing to me (cause i can't do it solo mostly). So i know my questions are weird

Dunno i feel like they are being insanely slow.
I agree with all the ability pruning thing, they are removing sooo much shit and a lot of it is passives (which doesnt accomplish anything so wtf). I hope it's just a huge redsign thing.
