Now I'm not quite sure what to save for: Seals for boxes probably, but perhaps the expansion boxes would be better? HotV at least has a ton of potentially useful cards: Caller of the Void, Hellfire Imp and some events. From the basic set I still need more Paos / DAs, and maybe a Ravager or two. VR also has Chaos Lacerators that could be useful. So far I've been basically been playing 4/2/1 with Garant -- not that optimal. Phrias or Xorm would be a better option for my deck composition. I also have a few 3 mana spells in the deck, but so far there has been little need of those. I suspect that will change soon enough. Could also throw Fireballs back in now that I actually managed to get a second one from a pack. I also need to check my cards from the other factions. I have a hunch I might be able to make a playable Necro deck soonish: got Atropos yesterday and have some other uncommons / rares at least as well. Probably totally missing some of the key cards though, and of course the hero. At very low ELO the quality of play was pretty terrible so I got the 10 win streak achievement by winning my first 10 duels. At least after hitting 500+ ELO opponents there's a chance the match will be interesting. Too bad there seems to be a ton of people just lowering their rating, got an automatic turn 0 win 3 times today. But that's not even the worst part. What's worse is that outside of the tournaments there seems to be very little reward in winning / playing well, or rather there's no real downside to losing. It'll just keep you at lower ELO where you can also grab quick wins. In fact, playing quick games would seem to be the optimal strategy to improve your collection. Random lockups at the end of the match (usually happens if the opponent concedes) don't really help either. Still, does anyone know how the duel rewards are calculated? (It seems to be rather hard to find good resources for this game.) I figured that there's a bonus for remaining hitpoints when you win, and some bonus for damage dealt, but are the formulas available somewhere and are there other bonuses?

At least the tournaments are there for competitive games though. You get 25 gold per damage dealt so 500 gold for a win. There are some wrinkles to this because I think you can get more if your opponent heals and you still get 500 for defeating one of the 18hp heroes. Other than that, there are a few other bonus categories, but you only get the highest one. Critical strike is for dealing lots of damage in one hit, overwhelming forces seems to be related to the total number of cards(creatures?) played during the game, there's something like outstanding defense that I have to assume relates to your defense, and another one or two. No one really knows how they work as there isn't any involvement from the developers of the game publicly. Experience is easier at least. You get 100xp for each of the first two turns and 30xp for each turn after. I think it caps at 590 total. You lose the 200xp from the first two turns if you surrender, and you get a 400xp bonus for winning. After buying a Serious Box, I'd suggest spending your future seals on the expansions. Just alternate between the two or pick the one with more cards you want. Use your gold for reinforcement and heroic packs.

There's an achievement with an reward for entering like 25 of them and it costs you nothing (you don't have to play in the jackpot tourney, just need to enter)

I put together that Kat OTK deck they have listed and am having some fun with it. Don't have 4 paos but they're not that important. It could cost me the game against another OTK/stall deck, but oh well.

do you guys think the stall decks are fun to play? they seem pretty boring (i played a lot of blue in MTG, and recently realized they're pretty anti-fun for the game) in other news....i just pulled my 3rd chaos imp lol, are these the worst epics or what? guess i'm sticking w/ random garant for a while :D

At this point, the slow decks have moved away from relying on tower, and your basically reliant on cosmic balance and a mixture of pressure and luck. Like I said, Kelthor not the best of decks in the current meta, just happens to be my personal favorite hero. The blue decks in MTG are only boring when their intention is just to counter every single card their opponent players, otherwise the interaction is fun, imo. I wouldn't say that the slow/combo decks are extremely OP, but they do tend to create extremely long and dreadfully boring games. However, it does do something for the game, which is mix up the metagame, and crush the anti creature decks, making it so the field has a variety of archetypes being played instead of just aggro vs control. The combo/mill factor needs too be accounted for when deckbuilding / playing. The really slow decks are really boring to play against though, especially since you sometimes have a chance to win if they miss on drawing a sweeper/altar of shadows on just one turn.

The campaign is insane, the basic computer is insane, etc. I feel like I just end up with too many spells and too few monsters to block damage. Anyone have any advice? Is there a way for me to buy another deck? If you're super new, you could probably just make a new account for a new deck. Redeem all of the codes and you should have plenty to work with.
