In other news, I'm playing a necro deck but I have troubles getting higher than 600 now. I have an Atropos and 2 Banshees so I'm playing a 6/6/0 Adar-Malik but I have troubles getting to my late game because my creatures don't stay on the field. I am starting to wonder if I shouldn't just play Seria again because the water spells are more diverse.

The game is really interesting, they went really clever about how to remove mana cards a la mtg. The tactics during creature placement are cool. You can win games just by placing your creatures right.
The only thing I don't like/wish was different, is that they removed instant interaction between the players, meaning there is no "in response". You want to shield a prized creature from spells? Go ahead, there is nothing your opponent can do about that.

kat's grand finale gets used in a OTK (one-turn-kill) deck, not sure about the other 2
i think at the beginning, just try to round out decks w/ what you have. top tier decks usually have a ton of epics
instant interaction is cool when you play live, but trust me, if you play online and there's anything resembling a "counterspell" when you're playing versus a slow player, you're gonna want to pull your hair out each time a trigger happens. could be personal preference though.

Still miles ahead from hearthstone, got no clue why it's so famous and DoC so niche. Because game is simply bad...
DoC has lots of problems and ubisoft does nothing about them.If you play like 2 3 days you will see the problems...
For example, standard ladder has no purpose, it is very easy to reach 1k rating thanks to clueless people, bots, low elo farmers. After 1k it is almost impossible to reach 1500 without paying or playing for a long time.At low ratings, you get easier wins and easier gold. That encourages people to low elo farm, you lose like 20 games on purpose and you tank your rating to 500 and you win to 1k again.Rinse and repeat. You get more gold then playing over 1k elo...
It is very hard to make a competitive deck.Game is so random that it is close to impossible to get 4 rares you absolutely need in your deck. You cant get single cards, after a while it becomes really irritating to card farm. You waste like a week to get one box, and you get nothing good from it.You get the same cards that you already have.Game doesnt have a system that gives you good cards or cards you need once in a while.
It is very hard to win other game modes without playing a lot or being extremely lucky, game forces you to play broken ladder. It becomes very boring and grindy after a while.
I can write more but you got the point. When hearthstone goes open beta no one will play this game.

Nothing you said has anything to do with the actual mechanics of the game though. Those are all problems, but they're fixable if Ubisoft cared.
|
not to mention they're adding the ability to get single cards at the end of this month

Major issue and the reason this game won't beat out hearthstone etc for me is how swiss on the ipad is virtually unplayable, I have never finished a swiss tournament on an IPAD, it's crashed or something every time on my Ipad 2. PC version is ok I finish 90% of them no issues, but those 10% they refuse to compensate me for. I've lost maybe 50+ tickets in total, and they compensated me for ONE then said they can't compensate any more than that sorry. So yeah there is that.
Not being able to buy singles(yes I know this is probably being fixed, but it's still an issue until it is), and absolutely NO limited format(draft, sealed, arena, etc) is also a big problem for the game.
The actual gameplay mechanics, the way the lines/rows work, the might/magic/fortune requirements, the shooter/flying/melee mechanics, all of these are awesome, and make me really like the game since it's quite different from other card games I play, just wish the rest of the stuff was up to par .
Honestly I've played quite a bit of it, I'm lvl 60 I think, so I have quite a lot of time invested, I just haven't played much since the new set came out, mostly cause of swiss crashes pissing me off.

As people above said these are not mechanics issues, meaning it's very intuitive and easy for the devs to fix. People whine about the randomness of the cards, so they give us single card purchases(already coming) or single faction packs, ta daaa.
As for hearthstone, I believe it will have d3's fate, polished, casual, dumbed down, ofc it's blizzard so people will throw money for the first months and then gg.

dang i haven't played on my ipad, didn't know it crashes so often.
i agree with you and want limited more than anything else tbh.
i think hearthstone has by far the best execution for it so far, i hope another company can come up with something similar.

It's been 5 months or something since I've had issues with the swiss games, doubt easy fixes are coming.
Also Hearthstone might be dumbed down, but arena is sick. And MMDOC has nothing on it.

You are all saying that they are easy fixes but, I am following this game for months.Nothing gets fixed ever.Even the simplest problems will take months to get fixed.I dont want to play a game that even devs dont care about.
|
one thing peculiar is that they actually said they can't "hotfix" things, for example the week of austerity bug won't be fixed until the content patch.
i think the devs care, at least they acknowledge the issues and fixed them server side, they just don't have the execution of the big dogs (blizz, riot)

also, in case you guys didn't see this from reddit, code for 3 HoV packs and a yukiko deck (goes into your decklist, not as a pack):
PAX-5TREAM-2013

Ohhhhh! Awesome! See, they do things like that, the new packs had so many sanctuary cards and people didn't have the heroes to play them so they gave us a free deck. Now if they could copy hearthstone's arena it would be great.

Another code : MMDOC-H4S-THE-B3ST-FANS

haha if they copied hearthstone's arena, i'd never leave the computer :D

Yeah some kind of arena mode would be freaking sick.

Wow those codes were luckiest packs ever, got my song of the lost , Time to build Sandalphon.

Nice. I'm still missing The Light of Tomorrow and Might of Nature, didn't get either.

Damn... that's awesome.
I got a Zardoc, 2 Lurker in the Darks, and The Forbidden Flame from it.

Is someone willing to take over this thread and you know, make it better? OP is probably done with the game and is not a frequent tl'er to boot if you look at his posts.
