Also, should i save for the Herald of the Void box? I think someone said earlier that all the good Graveyard decks are in that set.

I kinda had the same problem as Loving Memory when I started. Couldn't get pass the last fight of the tutorial and I was starting to get angry at the game lol. After redeeming the codes, everything was a lot more easy, even though I had some problems beating the last fight of other missions. After a couple of try, I was able to win easily. Bear in mind that it's a card game, so being lucky is a factor to consider (even more if you just started playing and you don't have enough good cards to build a decent deck). I would love to be able to buy single card and sell the ones I have in surplus. After opening a box, 6 packs from the gold I've won and all the goodies from the codes, I feel like I'm still far away from a decent competitive deck after looking at some recommended ones. Especially the Inferno Rush decks where you need DA's and Poa's (only got a single DA so far). But at least now I can try other factions, got a Necro and Stronghold hero as well as enough cards to build a cheap deck for each of these 2 factions and I've also won all 3 duels I've done so far pretty easily (but I guess it wasn't because of the cards but more how my opponents played really badly lol). Not sure if I will be able to reach a good ELO with the cards I have so far tho.

Well, most people recommend to buy the normal set box 1st then go for Herald of the Void. And as someone said, you might want to try other factions one day or another so starting with the normal box 1st might be the best choice if you want to try other factions and if you don't have enough cards from the base set. That's exactly what I did and don't regret it (still waiting to buy the expansion box though). Not sure what kind of cards you can get out of the expansions boxes but IMO getting as many cards as possible from the base set isn't a bad idea at all.

DoC seems pretty nice so far. Question, how do I go about getting these promo codes? Also, where can I see all the cards in the game so far?

Their official twitter (@duelofchampions)/facebook also posts new codes occasionally. mmdoc.net I believe.

http://www.mmdoc.net/show_deck/10221/ is what I have, except with only 2 lingering spirits, and I took out the shadow elemental, replacing those 3 cards with Purge, Frozen Ground, and Weakness. Could anyone help me decide what the weakest point of the deck is so far? Pretty new to card games, so I'm not too good at deck building yet. Also my name is Rapidice on DoC if anyone wants to add me!

Death Seal is playable, Soulreaver and Shadow Image are two of the best spells in the game. You're lacking some multi-target spells though. Geyser is ideal if you have any, but Ice Spikes is a reasonable play too. As for creatures, the first thing I noticed is that you have a Magic Peddler and no unique spells. Definitely get rid of that guy, and replace him with a Wandering Bard if you have one. The Bard will get you Atropos. Lesser Air Elemental is really bad, just compare him to a Lamasu - it's the exact same card with a higher resource cost. None of those neutral guys are worth playing, although Sea Elf Archer is reasonable if you don't have anything better. Seems unfortunate that you don't have any Vampire Knights or Archliches. I don't like any of the fortunes. Having some way to get Atropos back is good, but I'd rather play Graveyard or Ariana's Lair. Fortunes kinda stink in general unless you're building your deck around them or using them in combos.

Also my name is Rapidice on DoC if anyone wants to add me! i'm at 1k with my garant deck, here are my thoughts based on the games i've played: so in terms of short term goals (only going for commons/uncommons): get rid of neutral faction, almost always they are less cost-efficient (obv Pao and DA are exceptions), the 3/3 archer is actually okay, but unless i'm mistaken, i don't think your peddler even fetches anything. i would run 4 wretched ghouls and 4 vamp knights (instead of the zombies) if you have any archliches, i'd add those for spells/fortunes, i would only keep stat buffs and removal so get rid of vamp embrace and all the gold stuff. since icy weapon costs 4, i'd only run 2-3 max and eventually remove them to make room for better stuff. definitely add more soul reavers and asha uses all to cycle your spells in terms of rares, you'll want puppet master and pao's getting that atropos is godly, i haven't seen one after like 100 packs lol one general tip is in your games, always try to figure out asap if you're the rusher or the staller and adjust accordingly. for example against most garant you don't want to race health and just want to kill creatures to maintain board control. hope this helps. here's a tier decklist, but i'd advise against looking at it until you play a while, pretty much everything requires a ton of epics http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/792606-Decklists-by-Tier -edit LOL shadow you're so ninja

Do good cards ever show up in the Infernal Pit or should I just burn all my extra cards now?

i think at the end of the month they're allowing players to get single cards you could always buy heroic packs with gold, they guarantee a hero or you can wait for 5k cards and get ariana :D

Also about the peddler, I misread it, and thought it said any spell. Needless to say I looked pretty dumb when I had no valid choices haha

Also jackpot is hard. 3 tier 1 decks in a row. I guess I'm not ready yet. Edit: Is there a way to surrender other than just ending your turn immediately everytime?

Regular box first, or save for Serious Box. Don't enter Swiss until you are confident in your deck.

My 3 epics so far are Kats Grand Finale, Altar of Asha and Shi no Shi, is there any deck using these so I can start building around? The game is really interesting, they went really clever about how to remove mana cards a la mtg. The tactics during creature placement are cool. You can win games just by placing your creatures right. The only thing I don't like/wish was different, is that they removed instant interaction between the players, meaning there is no "in response". You want to shield a prized creature from spells? Go ahead, there is nothing your opponent can do about that. Still miles ahead from hearthstone, got no clue why it's so famous and DoC so niche.
