And honestly, I can't imagine how people still think Amar'e is better than Bosh. Bosh's skillset is so much more diverse, he is more durable, and more athletic (now). Sure, maybe he takes the POWER out of Power Forward, but he is still damn good, and not everyone can be Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett. And then you have LaMarcus Softridge.

Way for the rest of the team especially Derek Fisher to pick up Kobe's slack tonight. He's been doing that for them all season a game like tonight's really makes me optimistic about this team after such a lackluster season for most of them so far. Good win tonight, hope they can do it again tomorrow. OKC, has to be as tired as LA is right now.

Don't understand the difference between UCLA high post offense, pick and roll, screen and roll, triangle...shit I don't even know what I'm seeing when I watch a game. Can anyone condense the information into something platable for a guy who doesn't understand basketball that deeply?

It would be nice if there was a site that kind of diagrams the different offenses, or offensive styles, but I haven't ever seen one that I thought was good, and honestly most breakdowns of individual plays are wrong, or actually inadvertently display a defensive breakdown rather than what the offense is meant to do. To kind of get a feel for offenses I would start by looking only at screens, both ball screens and away screens. That will really help you start to get a grasp of offenses if you watch basketball a significant amount, but want to understand it in more depth. Other things are easier to get the hang of after you understand screens (IMO).

Really informative, really easy to understand what's going on and explaining this away from the ball. I watch games now feeling more informed. And that sounded like an infomercial...

UCLA Highpost, I think that involves the point at the top of the key with the big at the left elbow. Ball goes in, point switches with the fly, ball goes out, fly cuts deep into the paint, big goes to work, ball goes in. I think that's about it. Princeton Offense, I don't think I really understand. I know it's a series of off ball screens and rolls towards the basket. I dunno. I don't even know if anyone uses that anymore, we have athletic players now. We get to watch iso.

They're one of the few teams in the league that don't have a definitive speed advantage on either offense or defense, they rely on their length and size as much as LA does. That's why the Lakers look good when they beat them because they're beating them at their own game, but watch how differen't it's going to look tomorrow against OKC when that same size advantage has to contend with the speed and athleticism advantage of the Thunder. long story short. The Lakers can't JUST rely on their big men to carry them against every team, they need a balanced attack something that's been in short supply most of the season.

That's secretly why they won two championships. See 6-24 2010. Still waiting for the Lakers to trade Pau Gasol to a team I like. How about Gasol for Scola and Dragic? Laker's fans, you can't rely on Pau Gasol, he's washed up, mopy, and soft. Trade him for some help, shake it up, and get a decent point guard.

The main issue for the Knicks is their bench vs Miami. The starting 5 offensively might be able to keep up (might) but it's the Lebron/Wade/Bosh solo lineups + shooters and Cole that will kill be a major problem for the Knicks.

They Knicks need one of the Heat pieces to not show up basically and then they will have a "chance". Heat should take it comfortably at home.
