Not that this excuses his poor shooting %, but Drose's inefficiency is a byproduct of the Bull's offense being very mediocre. He is actually a pretty good "rhythm shooter" the problem is that on a huge % of his misses the play goes like this: Rose Dribbles around, finds boozer/gibson/deng/noah in the post, said person lacks a strong move to the basket so eventually he kicks it to rose with 6 on the shot clock. Rose dribbles around for 2-3 seconds looking for something good to happen, nothing does and he chucks up a shot.

who cares, they are winning. reason he gets so many fg attempts is that no one on the roster is actually a volume shooter. and d.rose isnt a pure shooter, when hes hot, hes hot. when hes not, he keeps shooting anyway and even on an off night he still gets 25 points. so whats the problem?

Boy, this is one of the worst playoff games I've ever seen. Botched foul calls on both sides of the ball all over the place, bad shooting, generally bad passing. Atleast Dirk is playing well.

This playoff year in general has been so disgustingly bad compared to last year's. So much less exciting overall.

What you talking about, I think this year is more exciting. Most years it's blatantly obvious who is going to the finals.

because in the playoffs against a good team that leads to blow out losses. Doesn't matter if no one else is a volume shooter - run the offense and create efficiency as best you can. Make open shots. The farthest anyone got with a scoring PG that shot below league average was 2001 Philly. They won 1 game in the Finals and got annihilated.

And Derrick Rose hasn't been hot for a long, long time. Which is the other issue.

that 4th quarter of the dallas/lakers game was one of the worst performances in a playoff game that ive seen from a team in any professional sport.

every player looked like he was in slow motion. doesnt look good for the lakers, that is for sure.

This Lakers' series has really impacted my view on Pau Gasol. I never bought into that noise of him being "soft." But in this series, he has not taken advantage of his height and technique. At the power forward position, Gasol should be able to handle Dirk and at the center position, he should have adequate footwork to score on Tyson Chandler and obliterate Brendan Haywood.

His play has been very underwhelming. And frankly, he is getting pushed around.

Well he can't exactly destroy Chandler. Dude is a really solid defender. Like wise he can't guard Dirk and Dirk isn't a bad defender himself. He's pretty much got the toughest job out of all the Lakers. Andrew Bynum can't guard Dirk and he can't exactly stop every lob play to Tyson Chandler either. Weird because I honestly thought LA would match up decently against this team.

Very disappointing game by the Lakers. I'm not sure what their defensive gameplan was, but they looked lost all game. The Mavs were able to do whatever they wanted on offense, and the Lakers didn't look like they came with any idea of how to slow them down. I want to say that were terrible and slow in their rotations, but it seemed more to me like they didn't know where to go and so were second-guessing themselves all game.

On the other end, I think it basically came down to the Lakers not being able to knock down shots. Their inability to spread the floor made them really easy to defend as the Mavs just had to pack the paint all game. Toss in many missed shots right next to the basket and poor FT shooting, and this thing was just excruciating to watch.

I feel like the Lakers still have a shot at coming back in this series, but the facts weigh heavily against it. The Mavs picked up the size they needed to give the Lakers' bigs a fight, and the Lakers' poor defense is letting them win with 3pt shooting and Dirk ISOs alone. The Lakers need to figure something out and make some big changes quick or they can kiss their threepeat goodbye.

It certainly doesn't help the Lakers by the fact they are always over confident. As the end of the 3rd quarter nears, Steve Kerr remarked how Odom gestured to a fan "dont worry we will win". It seems that they feel they can still turn it on/off when needed, and will win any close game down the stretch. Down 0-2, I'm still not going to bet against the Lakers, but their over confidence is definitely turning into a weakness. This might be the team that puts em down.

But he can score on him. I don't think he can "destroy" him either, but Haywood is another story. As Xal'Cyric said, the Lakers missed A LOT of shots at the rim, it could have just been one of those nights.

Hmmm, Lakers still haven't played well in this series yet. If they lose one of the next two games they'll go down, but if they can 'turn it on' so to speak and win the next two in Dallas, they'll cruise. Dallas has been known to capitulate before so it could happen. They're definitely favourites, but I doubt the Lakers will go with little more than a wimper.

Game 3 and 4 of this series should be epic.
