As opposed to ESPN and TNT who were covering the previous rounds and had live web broadcasts of their games.
Even tho ABC and ESPN are both owned by Disney and Germany is the largest economy in Europe. How can they not capitalize on this opportunity?
Because virtually no one watches anything other than soccer in Germany.Out of my friends there are probably 3 people who know any other player than Nowitzki . I think the games are shown on sky sports by the way the big sports cable station here.
No, it`s not shown on sky sports. It's shown live on Sport1+ (they pay tv part of Sport1), but rarely anybody has this channel or knows about it.
It's pretty ridiculous actually...one of the greatest german sportsman is on the brink of winning the nba championship and almost noone here is able to watch it...makes me sad :/ But of course everybody has to watch totally f'ing boring soccer matches...oh well. That's germany i guess...

That's Europe. In Greece we have one of the elite national/club teams in the world, with many trophies, and all we talk about is football, even though we suck at it.

You can just go to nba.de and get a finals pass to watch it live in HD. It is 6€ for the remaining games...

this!it also enables you to get up at 4 and skip unnecessary breaks (like halt time) by ff, if you manage to not see the result.
just get it.
also, afaik 1 wanted to get the rights but was shut down by the spanish company who own the rights cause it's possible to get sat 1 in spain. so prob they are to blame...

Oh, nice! I've only seen the 20 € for the whole finals package and thought that they wouldn't sell it for a lower price for the remaining games. I will get this one then i think
DALLAS -- Dirk Nowitzki's sinus infection and the ensuing storyline apparently was a source of amusement for Miami Heat superstars Dwyane Wade and LeBron James before Game 5.
As they walked out of American Airlines Center after Thursday morning's shootaround, Wade and James pretended to cough and wheeze, smirking as they repeatedly covered their mouths with their shirts while being filmed by Miami CBS affiliate WFOR.
"Whoa, did y'all hear me cough? I think I'm sick," Wade said before turning toward James and chuckling.
This came two days after Nowitzki scored 21 points, including a critical driving layup in the last minute, while playing with a 101-degree fever during the Dallas Mavericks' NBA Finals-tying Game 4 win.
I hope the Mavs blow out the Heat and Lebron cries on the court.
Haha, I just watched Jay Leno, he's so cruel, for anyone that didn't see it he said that Nowitzki cooled off during his fever just by standing next to James.

Oh the entertainment!
You don't even know the name of your favorite player...?

That was incredibly BM of them and I can't condone that, but I still hope they win :D

The media and fans as usual are just incredibly sickening. Wade and Lebron are joking around about Dirk, and even if they dont respect him - who cares? When players are on the court much, much worse things are said that people don't know about.
Then you've got people, even in this very thread that talk about Lebron's personal life. Bringing up subjects like his mom having sex with a former teammate, and now his girlfriend having sex with Rashard Lewis. Not to mention all the other personal attacks he's taken over the years that have nothing to do with basketball.
But people get upset over that? The bias and hate for Miami is unreal.
Don't care about any of this. I just want to see both teams at their best, on offense and on defense.
That doesn't mean I want to see Dallas let Lebron score 50 or allow highlight reels, but I want to see both of them work for it. Which is why mostly this has been a great series.
I hope there's no excuses and no stupid finger pointing and blame at the end.

Exactly. Every single game has been such great basketball and all the ignorant people can talk about is what is being said by the media.
Forget the storyline about "good Dallas vs evil Miami". There is some real, drawn out to the bone basketball being played out there. This almost tops last year's Finals for me.

Hm, that's a really good point. I was just judging them based off what people were saying, but there definitely was a media/general bias in there somewhere (or everywhere). It was a bit BM of them, but obviously they wouldn't have actually believed that Dirk was faking the sickness or overreacting, etc. As professionals they likely still have respect for one another, and on the court is where the really bad stuff will get thrown around...

I think you'd enjoy basketball just as much if not more if you just watched simulated games on 2k11.
Thanks Zekk, someone posted on an earlier page already though ^^
IMO they look extra ridiculous because they're two of the biggest actors on the court, when Nowitzki is playing with a legitimate fever and they're making fun?
