Westbrook is just bafflingly good and with the reduction of Greene, who was redundant to Durant in many ways, everyone's role is pretty clear cut. With Perkins and Mohammed (or whoever that guy is) guarding Bynum, and Ibaka guarding Gasol, they match up very well with the Lakers now. A lot of it depends on whether Artest is still the Lurker to Duran'ts Marine, but Westbrook will absolutely torch Fisher/Blake. They are definite title contenders now. mia's offense looked like crap, and completely dependent on the creativity of dwade/lebron, which was pretty well thwarted by OKC's D. they need some sort of real offense that they can fall back on, like the triangle, that could potentially generate some easy buckets / good looks without Lebron/Wade creating it directly.

I agree with you in general. Westbrook is a magic carpet and he will just look more impressive against the Lakers points. Perk and Nazr Mohammed can be a body on Bynum, but if the Thunder are going to roll out Perk and Ibaka, that's zero offensive fire power from you bigs. Also, Gasol will absolutely abuse Ibaka, that would be one of the worst in the later rounds of the playoffs. I would still take the Lakers in a 7 game series, pretty easily. Also, I want to respond the the D-Rose love but I'm trying to hold my tongue.

Everyone always says, "Fisher will get torched" and they are right in the regular season. Then in the postseason he starts doing HGH and Gasol, Bynum, and Odom play defense. A slashing PG is not the way to beat the Lakers, spot up shooting and shot creation is. Westbrook doesn't really "slash." he just jumps towards the basket. No real grace, not totally powerful, just flies towards the basket. But your point is very valid, Laker's defense in the paint is incredible. The length+height of Gasol, Odom and Bynum is too much to overcome. Still want to say something about D-Rose...call me when he doesn't need 20 shots to score 20 points.

Lebron: 58.2% Dwyane Wade: 57% Kobe: 55% If you don't like TS% then we can just use box score stats. Those three all score more points than Rose per game (his only real super elite skill, please don't talk about his passing..) Yet Wade and Lebron take fewer shots per game and Kobe takes about .5 more shots. What can you say? Rose's one supadupa skill is getting to the rim and scoring, no one isn't saying he's not a great scorer. What can you say? He just doesn't bring much else to the table - except for " MVP leadership" and "Championship chemistry" I guess. EDIT: last line is sarcastic, btw.

(If missed shots because of fouls showed up on the stat line) Yea, it counts as a shot from the floor even if you get hammered during the motion. Some advanced metric guy has an adjusted Fg% that accounts for 3's and being fouled, I just don't recall who it is.
