TRANSLATION:
I didn't like it because I need to be spoonfed everything forever. Character names should appear above the heads, and the plot should be explained before the film starts.
Trollfest, incorrect sir Trollsalot.
Why watch a movie where you know nothing different at the end of the film than you do at the start? Why read a book halfway through and stop to never know the ending?
The film was a huge budget and made alot of money, they had some good actors, the film was looking good until the awful ending and thus a waste of 2hrs 10minutes of my life.
Though actually, if you watch closely, it's pretty obvious if it's either a dream world or reality. Just sayin'.
Yes, lol so you don't know if its Reality or Dream....which you don't know through out the film with the goings on with his "dead" wife begging him to kill himself to "wake up" thus you spend 2hrs 10mins watching it to not know the answer = a crap ending, i would of rather he killed himself or it was a conclsuive bad ending rather than not know
Amazing movie, about life across the wall in Berlin. Based on a true story, so good.
Great movie indeed. Thanks for the recommendation. 8/10 imo
Been on a movie binge lately.
The counterfeiters - 7/10
It was decent i guess. Throughout the movie I was waiting for something to amaze me. But I found now. Worth a watch if you like war-related movies. Maybe i'm disappointed because i find myself comparing it to Schindler's list or even The Pianist.
Scarface - 9/10
There's a reason this is a classic. Just pure awesomeness. I enjoyed True Romance and found myself liking Scarface more.
A Space Odyssey: 2001 - 5/10
Not sure what to think of this movie. I can't understand the huge following/appreciation for this movie. Pretty sure everyone is on one giant bandwagon. Ending seems like it's a movie for scientologists. It would be great if someone could explain on why it's great.
Weird pacing throughout the movie. Started out really slow. It's obvious that mid-way through they ran out of plot lines to work with. Could have been a lot shorter in movie length.
Amadeus - 8/10
Always a fan of genres like this. (ie A Beautiful mind, Good Will Hunting)
Once upon a time in China 3 - 7/10
Less realistic than Ip Man. But so is every other Kung fu movies out there. Decent watch. One for the Jet Li fans.
@ Laishin - 2001 at the time was a milestone for not only special effects but cinematography. remember, this movie came out before we even went into space... The movie was soooo fucking ahead of its time. i mean look at this video... everything is just perfect and tell me star wars didnt rip off the look at 4:00.
It also has some of the most memorable scenes in all of cinema. -The docking scene -Mans first encounter with the monolith -HALs death -Ending
Well, I, like you, originally saw 2001 and thought, "What's the big fucking deal?!" I felt like I wasn't privilege some key information or something, but I gave it another shot, and saw it 3 more times (not in a row, I'm not THAT crazy).
After going through it with somewhat of a fine-tooth comb, I think I get it. There is a LOT of symbolism going on in this movie, even from the very beginning. The music that is played at the beginning is done so because it's supposed to be a full-screen view of the monolith, which appears several times later. As well, HAL is symbolic of the Greek cyclops story (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
I don't really have it in me at this time to type out ALL the symbolism involved, because there's a pretty ridiculous amount of it. However, I will say that it seems to be an acquired taste. Love it or hate it, Stanley has made some phenomenons in the past, so I believe 2001 should be considered among them.
I've heard some good things about this, what did you think?
I have mixed feelings about this documentary. I wouldn't call it particularly "good" or entertaining, but, at the end of everything, it is definitely worth watching. For me, the praise "best documentary of the year" is well deserved. It left a thoughtful smile on my face after I finished it.
Exit Through the Gift Shop introduced me to a part of this world (street art) that I had never really paid attention to in the past. The film really grabbed me in, because it follows a man who also unexpectedly makes his entrance into the world of street art.
In my opinion, the best way to watch is to come into this documentary with no expectations. Just let the film guide you through this journey.

go watch it.
it goes from your standard documentary to a hilarious slap in the face at the end. Definitely better than most documentaries nowadays, which are just too preachy and take their subject matter too seriously.
Famous movie; I'm sure many of you have seen it already, but I just watched it the other day. Similar concept to Requiem for a Dream. I've never injected myself with anything, but parts of this made me feel bad for the relatively tame things I have done. Great movie though, alternating from gross to hilarious to jaw dropping.
Delightfully surprised at how funny this movie was. It's more of a random bunch of jokes thrown in together type movie rather than one with a plot. The only downside was one of the main characters being the shocked 'loud and annoying' guy THE WHOLE GOD DAMN TIME.
"HOLY SHIT YOU CAN'T DO THAT" - shocked 'loud and annoying' guy.
"OH NO WE'RE GOING TO GET CAUGHT" - shocked 'loud and annoying' guy.
"JESUS CHRIST WHAT ARE YOU DOING" - shocked 'loud and annoying' guy.
'Christiane F.' I highly recommend, one of the best films I have ever seen and I'm usually a bit of a snob with films. Comparable to Trainspotting and Requiem for a Dream so if you like either of those films definitely see this.
Considering the starspangled cast, it was disappointing. I was expecting a "Planet Terror" -level of epicness, but it was more like a bad B-movie. Alien liferace with the ability of travelling between stars gets taken out by revolvers and indians firing arrows. (More or less). Not worth the money spent on the ticket.
Captain America:
Why do I keep putting myself through these superhero movies?! Average awkward-around-girls guy gets drafted and turned into superhero. Slowly builds relationship with cute girl who he otherwise would have no chance with. Stuff goes wrong. Sets out to save best friend who gets captured. Bad guy who also has superpowers tries to destroy world, superhero saves it. Exactly the fucking same as every other superhero movie ever made. (Perhaps with the exception of watchmen).
It's Japanese, and it's amazing. It's about a class of high schoolers who get put on an island for one purpose: The last man standing wins! Each student is giving a different random weapon and is left to his or her own means. It's funny slightly disturbing and everything you'd expect from a a Japanese movie. One of the best and most unique creations ever made.

I ended up reading the book to this. It's a pretty insane story, and I've heard it's something of a modern classic in Japan. Made me think of a more violent 1984 or a first person lord of the flies.
Watch this movie. Then, after a while, watch it again. It's a movie that grows on you, I've seen it 3 times and loved it more every time. Fantastic atmosphere, brilliant acting, unusual plotting, deep and disturbing. Certainly not for everyone, but you definitey won't forget it. 9.5/10 imo.
Edit: does the picture not show up for anybody else?
