We know that Myrcella and Tristane are in love and dornishmen don't show much restraint in those matters. So, delivering poison by a kiss when both of those are about to embark on a journey together is the nicest idea ever. Goes well in line with poisoning weapons when about to steal Myrcella from the gardens. The whole damn plan is absolutely retarded to begin with. What they should have done is go to KL, accidentally make Tommen deaded and then BAM! Trystane of the House Martell, the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm Myrcella is the only road to Martell influence in the capitol and they just murdered her. Brilliant. Taking a 50/50 on also killing the only (as far as we know) Martell heir is just icing on top. The assassination was obviously not sanctioned by Doran Martell, a reasonable and peaceful man. It was purely Ellaria's doing. She's a very one dimensional character who doesn't think. She's blind with rage and the only thing on her mind is killing Lannisters. We have seen before that Doran cannot keep her under control, but this will have been her last transgression. Not quite true, it is not simply about wanting to kill Lannisters. She wants to start a war and killing Myrcella is the perfect way to do it. It's an evil way to do it. We don't hurt little girls in Dorne That's why we hurt them right off the coast of Dorne. Haha i guess, yes :D

My guess is this season was a intro of Dorne and they will be more involved and less of the wall next season. Focus on wall will return season 7, is my guess since kit isn't included in s6 cast as I understand it.

Now that I write this, I'm not sure if I am allowed to post because the TV series is called GoT and not asoiaf. I haven't read the books but I know the name...
edit* + Show Spoiler +I feel like Jon Snow is the main character so he won't die. To me, after all the seasons I think A Song of Ice and Fire refers to Jon as Ice and Dany as Fire.

I actually had a similar take, but more like an alignment chart: ...............Fire...........Ice Good......Dany........Snow Evil......Red God.....White Walkers
But I guess there's more to that chart than those 4... Sam and the remaining Starks are still there to hold up the good/ice quadrant. Except Arya. She's not exactly good or ice.

From what's been suggested in the TV show, I think there's almost nothing to suggest that Jon should be the ice.
For example, why Jon Snow, why not Dragons vs White Walkers? Most people who make the claim are because of the Jon Snow theories, but if you're going that route, then why would Dany be fire?
Anyway, I think people read into the title too much. I don't see why Jon Snow has any plot armor? He's done enough, he's not needed anymore. He was there to show what White Walkers are capable of, develop Sam, and so on. What is Jon able to do that others aren't? The only reason why people think he can't die, is because people think we have to know who his parents are before he dies.
Honestly, to me, nobody has any plot armor at this point. A couple episodes of build up and anyone can easily be killed (even Dany - first step on Westeros, boom, dead). And with only 20 episodes left in the TV show, you can expect that many will get killed as we reach the finale of GoT. Doesn't seem to be the GRRM way to make too many people live happily ever after.

So, question...who actually has a legitimate hereditary claim to the throne now? Some random distant Baratheon?
|
Yup.. Gendry is pretty distant literally now.
|
Is there anything to suggest than Gendry is the oldest?

They can't unless they are legitimized by the king. And I don't think all the bastards got killed?
Anyway, according to the wiki:
"With the deaths of Stannis and Shireen, the bloodline of House Baratheon is extinct."

that throne is super cursed lol tagergians sat on it all dead except one, robert sat on it all whole family line dead except a bastard

Some random distant Baratheon? depends. it could be dany cause her family was the original royal one. but they were overthrown. no known baratheon or lannister can claim it but it doesn't matter because thommen is already the king. obviously if cersei or jaime confess to the religious thing then i think thommen would be kicked out or killed.
dany makes the best candidate right now imo because even if robert baratheon has more bastards or whatever they can't/won't be legitimized by the current king.

I am gonna ask this again: can I check the book thread or are there still spoilers for the people who only watch the show?

There are still spoilers. Some elements of the story have been left out, or have not yet been included.

This season the series only managed to capture a small fraction of the actual story and character development, so anyone who has read the books will know alot more about "the real" development toward the endgame, seeing as we are closing in on it rapidly (well, nothing is rapid with GRRM, but you know...).

Various book plotlines have been left out from the series altogether, and they are talked about in the book thread. So if you consider that a spoiler, don't read it.
There are also various tinfoil theories going around (some more likely than others) that could be big spoilers for you, also discussed in the book thread.
I wouldn't go there if you don't want to be spoiled.

But the main road from Winterfell doesn't even pass to the Twins. iirc That Tully guy(Robb's bannerman) only marry one of the Freys bec they wanted to pass right? Tywin was camping the Kingsroad with the main Lannister army. Jamie was sieging Riverrun with a smaller host. Roose Bolton made a feint at Tywin while Rob crossed the the Green Fork at the Twins and made for Riverrun, catching Jamie off guard. Lannister didn't have proper scouting so the Stark cheese worked.

If you only watch the show why would you want to go to the book thread?
