I agree I would have liked to at least see like 5 seconds of him taking the document into the shredder bin or something. Just to have knowledge prior to the bathroom scene.
Overall though I thought the episode was amazing. I'm sad it's the finale but so happy I only have to wait 4 months or so for it to come back for season 3! It's gonna be awesome! And I'm in agreement with the others who said the writers were prob going for w/ the Rachel + Mike thing was that he finally told her the truth. Although as others pointed out, it was kind of a half truth. To be honest I hope he elaborates on it shortly after their soirée in the file room that he's not a lawyer at all. I just don't want to give the writers more opportunity to smash the Rachel + Mike train again like 2 episodes after we think they're finally together.

Out of context, I get what you mean, but remember: Mike has been practicing law illegally. It is actually pretty serious for him to tell her that.

My question is does Rachel know that Mike didn't go to any law school at all or is she going to be happy now going to a crappy law school?

wow so he finally nailed Rachel, atta boy!
i'm so looking forward to the next season ...

Can someone explain to me EXACTLY why harvey didn't want this deal to happen?
Was he just being a giant pussy retard cry baby? Like I seriously didn't understand what he had against it.
Ending was terrible....sigh wtf was that? Why would rachel possibly respond to that by having sex with him? lol.
Also, why the fuck wouldn't he just tell harvey she threatened to have him sent to jail? TBH I barely believe mike would take the threat seriously, jessica would know if she did that there's a chance she goes to jail, her firm's reputation is tainted, the other firm may not want to merge with them, and she would lose harvey 100%
|
I'm liking the way the merger went. Way too boring if Harvey got his name on the door so quickly. But I do think the last ep of the season could have been done much better...

lol that ending. Just... lol.

If she loses she doesnt get the merger anyway so its sort of a if I go down im taking you with me move. I agree she probably wouldnt of done it but Mike isnt willing to take that risk as evidenced by every action he has ever taken as a character.
Harvey didnt like the deal basically because of his ego. He didnt like the thought that someone else got his name put up on the door instead of him doing it himself.
Rachels response was sort of confusing but I guess I can live with it. I honestly expected her to freak harder than anyone but I guess considering she has spent the past 20 episodes being in love with him she was just happy there was nothing stopping them anymore.

so how many loose ends are there exactly for next season?
what will happen between mike and harvey
what will happen between mike and rachel
what will happen with the whole merge situation
what will happen with harvey and jessica
what will happen with harvey and scotty
im probably forgetting a few things but they've got a hell of a first episode to take care of next season
|
That final scene didn't seem like it was going to turn in to them having sex, was kind of weird when they started making out there.
Awesome episode otherwise, loved Harvey being put in his place!

So overall this episode was pretty good, but there were many "continuity mistakes" (I don't know the proper word). For example when Scotty handed Mike the folder he opened it with the right side up and read it. Now why whould he read the back of the document first and second when the shot turned to being over his shoulder, he opened it with the left side up. Also during the final scene when Mike had already unzipped her top and she was standing in her bra, in the next 2 shots her top was back up
Now I normally don't notice these all too much, but for some reason in this episode there were many and it kinda made the overall very fun episode weaker.

Glaring mistakes, yes.

I feel bad for Nigel Thornberry

I felt bad for him too (although it was pretty obvious one of them was going to screw over the other). I actually thought Louis was going to be the one getting tricked, since he seemed more sincere in his need for a friend.
Also, I gotta ask:
Did anyone else think it was interesting that Nigel called Louis an animal, when Nigel has those ears?
Seriously, he could fly away with those.

Seriously, he could fly away with those. When you have "free satellite" reception you are bound to hit National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and such few times a day just by flipping the channels.

I like that the theme of the series started with Harvey telling Mike "Get your shit together" and the series ended with Jessica saying essentially the same thing to Harvey. He started to spin out of control and he was far too proud during the merger, so it is time for a more humble Harvey that can better separate business from personal, something everyone from Allison to Louis mentioned as a problem.
I also really like Louis's character development through the season culminating with the prisoner's dilemma where Louis screws over Nigel and double damages Rachel with his lies. That's who he is.

Interesting finale. Season 2 has been a mixed bag for me. Some very good moments, but I generally didn't like the whole 'IT IS WAR' aspect. And all the relationship stuff just got tiring and frustrating to watch in the end. I really hope season 3 runs more in the vein of the first one.

I agree. I generally prefer to see a structural and foundational breakdown (the "it is war/ everything is at stake" idea for a prolonged period of time/ episodes) once the show has been running for a few seasons already and they need something fresh (usually by around season five or so). But by season two? They barely got their feet wet and I wasn't even completely comfortable with everything and everyone yet. I wanted to get into a longer and more familiar groove so that when everything was being torn apart, it would hurt me more.
Also, I think a lot of these recent episodes are really too explicit with who's supposed to be the bad guy or who just gets screwed over. I like a little more moral ambiguity and gray area.
