My post wasn't specifically at you, but please understand that discussing matchfixing has a time and a place. Here is not the place, and now is not the time.

Nobody was discussing or even implying match-fixing. Don't be silly.

There are degrees of 'not trying'. When it comes to Secret, some people were suggesting that perhaps they're kinda waiting on the new patch, perhaps spending some time doing non-Dota things or playing single-player videogames. That would mean they're not trying their absolute hardest. But it's far from match-fixing. It's not that black and white.

Solitude is Secret's first ever sub. Looks like he used to be on Balkan Bears with w33 and played both mid and support

I guess there's no downsides to taking a sub and it's a precaution in case someone gets terribly ill or whatever. Interesting to see if they ever end up using them as a standin for some online games or whatever even if the tournament wouldn't be the major and they could use whoever they want.

Concerning Secret's games they did indeed look very stupid in a few. But dota is a very snowbally game, if you are somewhat out of it mentally games can get out of hand fast and then they become a feedfest. I don't know if there was any real reason for it other than the players not maybe really getting into the games after taking a break after majors, but next up for them is WCA so there we should see where they really stand again.

Also there's another sub called distiled (Prokhorenko Nikolay Yurievich). Solitude's name I have seen on some streams and on the leaderboards, this other guy is a total unknown for me.

distiled might just be someone's friend who they got to sign up in case things really really go wrong and one sub isn't enough. as you say, there's no downsides.

well we can't have everything

they didn't decline, they were in the qualifiers and dropped the qualifier cause that was the time they were gonna travel to some tournament(not sure which one i think nanyang) and they already had too many games that time iirc

Odds are good we'll see some Mirana picks, yeah.

Didnt get to see their matches vs Empire, but they were pretty terrible vs Wings. I don't know whats going on with them. W33ha and Misery are not really performing that well IMO, and the supports don't seem to get much done in the early game. Jacky Mao is playing acceptably - usually mirroring the performance of his team (playing well when team is winning, playing poorly when rest of the team is feeding).

They need to go back to scrimming and figure out the meta I guess.

Dota is just really competitive so if you're a little off your game you lose.

Puppey's drafts have been bad and everyone on the team has been playing worse. Envy is the least guilty, and Wee has looked a little better than the rest, but even those two are looking less good than when they were winning. I'm hopeful they'll figure out what's up. I still think they're just lacking a little bit of crispness and confidence. Mentality is important.

Bizarre considering how crisp they looked at the majors. Plenty of time though

EG lost first round at ESL NY and Vega won, first LAN of the patch. There was a lot more time to prepare for that, too.

Nothing to be remotely concerned about for Secret fans, imo. Still doomsayers and "lol patchteam" being posted everywhere...

They spent time preparing for the last patch and Icefrog changes it on them with 1 day to prepare. Nice.

The concern is also due to them not doing well online in the end of last patch, and then this LAN came. They've had some poor performances in the last 2 weeks or so. But it isn't about the patch, and I don't think it's even due to other teams somehow figuring them out in the end of last patch in the draft. They just played poorly, idk really why.

But that said even some of the best teams sometimes have bad phases. EG lost first round of ESL, EG lost before TI at MLG to London Conspiracy and didn't make it to playoffs. Secret 2.0 almost didn't qualify to SL12 and then got last place at the LAN itself only to start dominating some weeks later. Two weeks of poor play alone is hardly cause for great concern after Secret's play in all tournaments before this unless there is something going on inside the team but that's a bit hard to know.
