This i ok but I still don't see things that
1. Make people care about their own or other people's profiles
2. Fosters community inside the game
Where are the features that make guilds purposeful? That make it actually prestigious to have a high mmr? That make people want to build relationships and reputation in the game?
Yeah sure shiny buttons are great but if this is their ultimate redesigned outside game experience UI I'm pretty disappointed. To be fair none of this matters that much for good or bad, it won't have that bigger impact. Custom games on the other hand have a chance to make Dota 2 into something new and brilliant, to support a community that's been without a home since wc3. I'm cautiously optimistic valve will screw it up less than Blizzard in Starcraft 2 but we'll have to wait and see.

So source 2 is unlikely to change dota 2 gameplay itself?

Correct. Also the sun is hot.

Source 2 shouldn't have an impact on gameplay although I'm sure there will be bugs that do have an impact because that's how life works.

We are fucking back to beta holy shit. Dota went full circle.

Voice chat all the time is a big deal, that alone makes me want to stop the awful torture that is solo queue and get a team going again.

Considering how it's apparently split into 3 parts, and we aren't getting the next bit of info until next week, I'm guessing we'd be lucky to see this stuff come out 2 weeks from now at the absolute earliest? Whatever the case, I love the sounds of all this so far, really excited.

I'd guess this drops soon after ESL - they wouldn't want to break something right before that and they will want to have some time to test before TI (where they want to have the new broadcasting features at least).

"Early next week we'll be talking about Custom Games, and later that week we'll conclude with various details about the new engine and launch the open beta." So should be up for testing next week if this is correct from their announcement.

Additionally, our focus has been on the dashboard so you’ll find the in-game HUD currently looks the same.
Why else would they mention their ingame HUD if they had no plans on changing it?

I'd be surprised if Valve doesn't address the HUD eventually but I'd guess that it wasn't prioritized relative to Source 2 and some of these UI overhauls. Once these are out Valve will presumably have more resources to devote to, among other things, making a new/customizable HUD.

It's pretty safe to assume they plan on making some HUD adjustments after they feel finished with their dashboard update.

source 2 is a new game engine, revised, redeveloped blah blah blah basically it's source but it's better. so we can do stuff in game and game clients that we can't do before, some of the bugs and weird stuff in the old engine would be fixed in the new engine blah blah blah.
you get the idea... volvo is re-releasing the game that is rewrote using a new game engine, it will break some stuff, introduce some awesome shit, probably break some other stuff... I still don't get the hype Beside new UI and custom maps and "I don't know what so good about it" chat Basically we're still in the same game Those candies will be interesting for a 2 weeks Then we gonna essentially still play for the game Ok except the custom map
Enlighten me please
