Very excited for the next two parts of the announcement.
/edit Also just making the UI run smoother will be awesome. How the current UI feels clunkier than the actual game I have no idea.

As if we're getting new game and lame blizzard etc This is essentially just a new UI In 2 weeks this is gonna be forgotten Of course custom map will be exiting But in the end we come for dota I only care for the hero MMR because i believe i supposed to be at the higher mmr than i am now :p

They'll be permanently there. Dota TV will supposedly actually function properly. The new engine almost certainly means better optimization meaning the game will run better. The new engine is also easier to work in supposedly meaning valve can produce more content and events for stuff like diretide, frostivus and what not. Plus, valve finishing up their work on the whole source 2 aspect of dota2 also means that they'll begin focusing their work elsewhere. The last heroes being ported. Bug fixes. New game modes. Overall improvement of various aspects. How the hell is this stuff that'll be 'forgotten in 2 weeks'

The list goes on. The client UI is an important part of the Dota experience. Having a more welcoming and more appealing UI means more time spent in the game doing useful things (as in, bringing value to the player), and it means more newcomers attracted to the game (man, I still remember when I launched the game for the first time 2 years ago, right before TI3, I thought "wtf is this mess? HTML content here, half-assed social features there, big dumb buttons and tabs everywhere). I think it deserves all the hype it's getting.

I can't really respect Dota as a real game with bugs like these TBH. I mean even Warcraft 2 had the concept of fog of wars on the lock down nearly 2 decades ago and these people are running multi-million tournaments with the inferior RTS base compared to Warcraft 3. =\ I realllllllllllly hope the source 2 means this will be handled (and not just new shiny things that I will forget about a week later) the general consensus is that requirements will go down as the engine is more optimised and uses cpu more efficiently. it also balances the load onto video cards more (source 1 is heavily cpu dependant) meanwhile yay for my underutilized 7870.

What I do is click find games then alt tab to chrome So no added value there The longest time I spend in client when not playing is picking item to be recycled I'm not saying the UI is not worth to be upgraded It's amazingly great, it looked like some of apple designed And yeah the old "today" tab is slow like sloth But than again, just like android UI update, it's great help in QOL, but we'll forgot it in 2 weeks and focused back to the game Bug should be squashed They does not deserve hype for quashing in game bugs It's something they have to do, be it by source 1 2 or 999 Oh and yeah the dota tv is good update I don't buy ticket to watch game, and I prefer watching in twitch to see the action in the stage So... Yeah... Im not saying the update is meh Its a needed updated But the hype we're giving is not that worthy In the end it's still the same dota through and through Its not the same jump from Dota WC3 to Dota 2

The visual things are annoying but there's still quite a lot of sloppy handling of RTS fixtures that may make custom maps a real pain, especially with their tendency to put huge amounts of units on screen. Things like unit selection, pathfinding, attack priority etc. One of the reasons wc3 custom maps worked so well because the base game was so solid at these fundamentals.

After this kind of patch, you can realise that on LotV works 1 developer.

it has all the tools to change dota as we know it with custom games, more community building and better dotatv but at the same time, when the patch hits nothing will change for the players for the first few weeks or even months. the UI looks better and has a few convenience options but thats about it. so on one hand i am really looking forward to what dota is in 12 months time, but on the other hand i couldnt care less wether the patch comes this week or in 3 months.

What happened to the coaching feature? What happened to guilds? Yeah getting new buttons and animations is nice but this is probably going to be the last UI update we'll get in a few years, I want something that improves the game experience and community.

The first one i post only after seing the 1st page of this thread This new one I post after I actually went to dota 2 site Hoping I get the hype, or anyone could elaborate But of course, everyone needs to be sarcastic and rude in respond anything that contrary to their opinion Look at andy jay comment above this post Exactly what I mean Game experience is the most important I am hype if we get Zet and Pit Lord though That will move to heroes that we never seen before On June 14 2015 03:23 hfglgg wrote: i think this patch is the most important one and the least hypeworthy one at the same time, if that makes any sense. it has all the tools to change dota as we know it with custom games, more community building and better dotatv but at the same time, when the patch hits nothing will change for the players for the first few weeks or even months. the UI looks better and has a few convenience options but thats about it. so on one hand i am really looking forward to what dota is in 12 months time, but on the other hand i couldnt care less wether the patch comes this week or in 3 months.
