Diablo 3 is a lackluster game in every other aspect but marketing. This is not a matter of opinion, just simple observation like we do on WW2 villans.

Which would happen in todays world anyway. Why don't you have an AH to make it easier for us and why do you allow ebaying ! Will be interesting what they will do in the expansion, they have free hand to throw in new stats and equipment that is focused on team pvp. They could even steal from other games and create gear that works just on PvP maps, to not screw with PvM.
I am still undecided when to buy it. Get it first second farm the crap out of it to finance the game. Or wait till some reviews are out. I mean there were enough spoilers in the original to know what will happen in the expansions story. So true. D2 had a ton of itemshops and d2jsp which was HUGE and a lot of people spent money there for trading. So basically, the d2 fanbase showed blizzard that they wished to spend money on items. Blizzard just obeyed.

Your hilarious, trying to pass your opinion off as fact. There are a ton of written reviews for the game on Metacritic that disagree, saying the game was great. There are also a ton of opions of people who didn’t like that game and decided to review bomb it.
Just because a lot of people on the internet agree with you on TL does not mean that the whole world did. Its just the people here.

I really think it would be a better game if it had D2'esque custom rooms for trade etc. So much more fun. I don't think it's the ah itself that is the problem. Custom rooms for trades isn't just archaic, it's also really difficult to actually get a trade going for an item you actually want. There's a reason the real world has moved away from the barter system; finding one guy out of millions that has the thing you want, and you having the thing one thing in millions that he wants is not a fun game of probabilities to play. The ah isn't the best system, but it's a vast improvement in practicality. My issue isn't the ah making finding items less fun, but that the item design is terrible. The random properties on the items just feel like samey fluff because they're all based around uninteresting stats, you always just look for mainstat and vit and there's nothing that makes the item feel different from others. None of the items really feel unique, even the uniques. Where are the fun utility magic affixes to combine, faster cast rate, hit recovery, damage taken goes to mana, being struck/attack has chance to cause spell, light radius, blocking, charged items? Where's the unique specials like flamebellow letting me use inferno, or runeword to turn into wolf, or get special auras? That's what makes the game so mediocre for me. Farming so that I can get 50 more vit on an item is not interesting; farming something like Trang-Ouls Avatar so I can get new techniques/abilities/etc. that can completely change the way I can play is. Blizzard has said they want to update the loot system and provide for more unique items and the ability to get interesting items early on in the game. That is really all I need • Updated loot system with better loot that is more fun • Optional “Classic mode” that removes the AH option that character
I would also need • Skill tree system w/ spell damage that is independant from weapon dps • Ability to spend attribute points • Randomly generated environments that are actually random • Ability to bind more than 4 hotkeys • Ability to have more than 4 players in a game • Completely revamped itemization • The Men in Black to come to my house and wipe my memory about how bad D3 was at release

WTF is the “enthusiast press”? Is that some term used by people who want to discount reviews as things written by “fanboys” who want to become friends with the developer and get a job later on? I read a number of reviews for Diablo 3 from a large number of websites, including the gold standard for reviewing Giant Bomb, who gives not shits. They all liked the game.
I know its hard for people to believe, but there are people out there that liked Diablo 3 and did not buy into the internet hate train on the game. I know everyone here agrees with you, but that does not mean that the rest of the world does. I could find a website where everyone agrees the world if flat too.

Pretending that diablo 3 wasn't a let down is an odd thing to hear.
I am not saying diablo 3 was horrible, it just wasn't as good as nearly everyone hoped it would be.

i would like the game if there was any way to itemize your character aside from from just stacking the only attributes that matter (stat+vit, resist, crit + crit damage, attack speed, life leech). where's the creativity?
edit: that whole thing, it's really been beaten to death though. maybe they can salvage something with the expansion, but i suspect it won't change any of the deeper issues that plague d3.

nobody is saying diablo 3 doesnt have problems, but for me personally, the game was amazing. i spent over 600 hours playing it, and have not once regretted the money i spent on it. indeed, other than starcraft, there has been no better investment of money for time spent on game.

I remember when I was in high school where I got a very minor quiz score of a 49/100 which is a failure because 50 was the passing score. I asked her nicely to give me a break and be generous once in a while. Her response was: "49 is not a 50.. even 49.9999 has never been a 50, thus it's fail".
Anyhow my point is.... It is what it is. Bad game is a Bad game.

I will buy the expansion, have fun for like 50 hours and move on, same way I did with Diablo 1, 2 and 3. Never understood the long term appeal of Diablo 2, endless grinding for perfect items or level 99 is just not my thing.

lol.. you said it yourself.. "a personal opinion".. at the end of the day its an opinion.. calling someone's opinion stupid just make you more stupid...
this is why opinion exists.. would it be much of a difference if i give a "positive" opinion for everyone? .. I would be lying to myself if did give an opinion just to please everybody.. it's an opinion...
so... to your words.. "Claiming that because you did not like a game makes the game bad for everyone else is stupid"... what kind of hypocrite world do you live in if everything you see are positive..
stop trying to be smart-ass and undermine someones else perspective.. at some point "negative" or "positive" comments are bound to surface no matter you like it or not..
