Remember folks, less than .5% of the people who purchased SC2 beat it on brutal and they are all on the Team Liquid forums. And yet the Diablo 3 forums on TL are generally dead. Sorry but even if a minority screams loudest, it is still a minority and Diablo 3 was a disappointment for the majority of players. It did not have the rich content that was promoted in its advertisement, nor did it feature pvp or other stuff that was shown. I realize that there are a few hardcore fans that defend their favourite game of choice with a passion but for the large bulk of players, Diablo 3 was a disappointment that did not stand up to its promises and had no long term entertainment value. Yes it is true there are hardcore players that play and enjoy the game but that is not the majority. From over about 10 million copies sold in total, the people actually playing this game on a roughly regularly bases is in the few thousands. You... are a dumbass. Sorry that I have to say that outright, but it is true. In the THOUSANDS? http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/124240-Diablo-III-Infographic-Shows-2-1-Million-Players-Still-Log-On-DailyIf you have some source that shows the number of people playing daily in the few thousands, by all means link your source. I wonder how many bots inflates that number. And by the way, he was not being a moron, i had logged in from time to the time the last months a few times, and i would never see more than a few thousands players online. http://www.justd3.com/diablo-3-gamers-on-a-decline.htmlThis is from release. 1) Where did you see players online? A huge number of people dont play multiplayer, so the public games list is not accurate for number online. 2) That xfire chart is not accurate, lots of people dont use xfire. There are communities for it though. Like CoD 2, which is #3 on their chart right now (at 24k hours). It outranks WoW by 12k, and with 8 million players that should demonstrate just how inaccurate it can be. Dota2 is even only at 7,110 hours and there are 271,688 people playing it right now at this instant. All that chart means is that among those that use xfire, they stopped playing d3. From what I remember, LoL took a hit in their numbers when d3 was released and it rose back up after a week or two. So people basically played D3 instead of other games, then returned to their other games. I imagine D3 is at a particularly low point right now though because so many people are waiting for the loot revamp that we were told about back in March. Do you play d3 ? You go in, you can check the amount of public parties. When you look for them, and they are only 400/500 public parties overall, you know the state. And yes, i do believe that those numbers are inflated and false. Because 1 - If you check most forums of d3, except the largest ones, have died or just have the ten same guys posting. Maybe because only a very, very tiny fraction of gamers actually write in forums? On a German forum with a main focus on 3D graphics (instead of gaming), the Diablo 3 thread has 20+ regular writers alone. The real Diablo websites in German have forums dedicated entirely to D3 and still generate quite some traffic. Didn't you know, the personal experiences of the TL community are the best way to determine if the game is still active? Forget all those other numbers, what you see is reality and anything else you see reporting on the state of D3 is a lie.

It will be D3 Expansion announcement which i will get, but not overly excited about.

Specially when you are releasing it for other platforms. 3 - The "1,2 million of players" everyday is even funnier when you take into account numbers from release http://www.error37.com/, which with 12 million sold copies, for one week, you can make up a year of stupidity. 4 - Bots or legit players. I logged in last night and at 11:30 there were 2500 public parties on the NA server alone. That ignores the fact that as I said, "most people dont play multiplayer" - aka public games.
It is 2.1 million every day, which is a lot even if you account for the fact that there were initially 12 million sold. It is obviously less than that that currently log in, but as I said before it is WAAAAAAAAAAY more than mere thousands. It should be close to a million still.

All right, I could do with an expansion. Hopefully some good details come out about how they are updating the game. I want some crazy loot that I don't need to play through 5 times to get. Also, no AH. Man, what if they just said, "The expasion will not support the auction house."

It's an integral part of D3 and its item/monster balancing was done with it in mind. They make nice money out of the RMAH. And if it didn't exist, it would soon get replaced by third party auction houses.

with the huge community hate towards d3 i'll be amazed if it does well, I loved d2 but d3 felt like such a huge let down.. I don't think I can bring myself to buying the xpac.

They have openly said several times that it was a mistake and an idea that looked good on paper, but did not do what they intented. I'm not sure if they will keep it or not. Maybe they will just make a "classic mode" that does not allow the AH to be used. That would be a good middle of the road route.

Knew it. Time to reverse pattern of copy D3 into HOTS. New boss will be Kerrigan. Or I should say Nagirrek.

That... does not sound as something Tyrael would say... Anyways, looking forward to it.

The AH was stupid because it circumvents the entire item finding aspect of the game, which is really the only reason to play. On top of that, legendary items had the same boring affixes that rares do, so they were completely uninteresting to search for.
Other things that suck. The depth of character development was pretty shallow. You don't select your attributes to fine tune your character, same goes for skills. You get all your skills given to you and can change them whenever you want, so the replayability of creating new characters with new builds and experimentation are gone. And a host of other problems.
Basically, D2LoD had a perfect framework for creating nearly infinite replayability of the game. D3 stripped out all those elements.

Bwahahahahahaha.
But seriously, I don't think I'd want Blizzard to get their hands on any of the Valve IP. No offense to them...

They should just change the entire interface of D3 to be similar to how heroes work in dota 2 or war3.

Yeah, I didn't like Blizzard's solution to the "enough STR for gear, enough DEX for block, then the rest into VIT" problem, which was making an even stupider stat system.

I'm on the "fuck the AH" train. I really think it would be a better game if it had D2'esque custom rooms for trade etc. So much more fun.
