So what do you guys think about machines? I can see why they'd be useful if you have their production up to 175% with like, 100 machines or more.
I have 151 gun machines on one account with 175% production, and I get 57 guns per token. It adds up, but I think it's probably better to take the money you'd buy credits with, invest in theft credits, and then just buy the guns and vests directly.
Oh, and can someone explain how guns, vests, and stamina work when jumping someone?
|
So I got jumped by one of the "bigger" guns, taking my first lost. Considering I had 180K vests at the time. Good thing I didn't save up any money.
Sat Mar 8, 12:33 PM • Doctor Gunz (#676) jumped you and was able to beat you down. They made off with 37 junkies, $49 and 2 square feet worth of drug lab equipement. In the shoot-out you lost 340 guns and 4,087 vests. Your opponent lost 5,179 guns and 441 vests.
Shit. Seems like that the two jumps on me in 3 days lowered Gravien's worth by 500K. Would have been close to 10M worth.

Just Google it, it is all over the place. I'll just tell you what I remember. The greater amount of guns you have is quite obvious as it increases your chance of jumping someone. If you are a full time gunner, don't even get any vests, my third time saying this already Stamina also increases your chance of jumping somebody. Gives a bonus to the jumping "power". Keep Stamina at 200% all times before jumping someone. Don't really remember the smaller details on this one, so you gotta Google it.

Keeping stamina at 200% is so hard -_-
|
God, there are so many versions of DopeWars I'm having trouble finding a guide for the browser version. -_-
So yeah, what are we planning for when the server restarts?
I went gunning on one account, and it's fun, but keeping stamina up is going to be a bitch.
Just a question: whether you farm or go guns, are you supposed to budget tokens into more than one thing? Meaning, if you're gunning, should you only spend tokens on jumping?

i remember this was on my cell phone 5 years ago back when i was actually doing it (and not playing bw)
funny shit

Okay, so I've tried a couple of things:
1. Buying lots and lots of gun machines: It works well after a while, as each new machine you buy gets you a crapload of guns. Excess money can be spent on even more guns.
2. Buying credits to increase production, using money to buy guns, and using tokens to jump: works well, too.
Both are working, but of course in the long run I'll have more guns with the account with gun machines.
I did notice, though, that the person with the most guns is also the person with the most gun machines.

LandenC is my name in game and i will join the Cartel now.
[Edit] Cartel TL 3 is at 17 people right now. TL1 and 2 are full.

I'd much rather just buy them directly, and spend my tokens on labs and junkies.
Yeah, earning credits with textbooks is a terrible idea, but what about buying credits on the market and selling them? I'm looking at it now, but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of benefits to doing this, especially if your job is farming junkies/space/vests.
1. If your money is in the form of credits it doesn't directly translate to vests thereby allowing you to do something beneficial with your money without being put on the leaderboard (and therefore drawing unwanted attention) *of course you'd want to have a certain number of vests for defense.
2. you can saturate the market, buying all the credits possible and selling them when appropriate- turning the profeits you can no longer invest into vests, keeping as much money in the cycle as possible.
The profeit/credit would be small, which is why you have to invest a lot of money. And also, like playing any market, it is a game of buying and selling at the right times.
oh... 3. If your worth is low, maxing out theivery would be cheaper, therefore allowing you to buy the maximum amount of vests each time you buy them with market money.
I don't know yet how the market fluctuates or why... if it's based on real market kinds of things or just on random decisions of the game.
Just a thought... I'm trying this out now to see if it works. If it does it might give those doing just farming another thing to do with the added benefits of staying low and earning extra cash that translates into extra vests. ------
Also, I propose TL has three teams. One who's goal is to beat the server by just farming (and maybe playing the market),
one who plays the role of gunner team which strategically helps the first team as they reach the top levels of the server.
one for people who are casually playing
------
ok, one more thing and then I'm done spamming this- if we separated the teams into gunner and regular teams, we should somehow protect the gunner team from being jumped themselves (as they probably won't have many vests). We could see if we could name both teams teamliquid using a L for one "liquid" and an upper case I for the other "liquid", making both teams indistinguishable on the score board...
alright, I'm done. Thanks
|
I agree with leaf's idea of the three teams. One time can focus on being players 1-20 at the end of the round, and the second team can beat down any threats. :D
|
I'm up for gunning.
Should we have a separate, non-cluttered thread to organize this? 'cause this thread is too filled with other stuff (strats et all) to really organize this.
|
This game is pretty fun. I'm currently at around 2-3 million worth on all three of my accounts, and have positions 2-4 in TeamLiquid3. I'm kind of a gunner on all 3. I just test the waters by randomly jumping people, once I get a good jump I rape them until they are a bloody pulp and can no longer be jumped xD. I agree with LeafHouse on the text books, much better to just invest in junkies/labspace and then buy credits of the black market.
|
Yeah, buying textbooks is a waste of tokens and time, franlkly. It's one thing on an A server, but it's useless on the B servers.
So how is everyone planning to play come the 15th?
How are most of you spending tokens?
|
|
I think I'm gonna have to be careful to not use all my turns or I'll be too high worth. -_-
I wasted almost 50 turns on books, and 10 turns on machines, 4 turns on moving locations, and tons of money on coats/theft credits too early....... Still near top of cartel. Kind of scary to imagine if I did everything right.
|
Yeah, I'm definitely going to be a farmer next game. Gunning is fun, but it seems more involved than I really want to be.
