my prediction abilities are just hhhhh-Awesome.
obviously if Thornton ( and possibly any one on the Bruins ) does this again (during this year's playoff run) it'll be a suspension. any one know how they came up with $2,820.52?
Thornton had no choice but to at least "sound contrite".. who knows if he is being honest... myself.. i think "advantage Thornton"... he is under Subban's skin. Subban is already running around a bit too much. Let's see if these kind of antics exacerbate the issue.

Kadri and Rielly talking the Carlyle 1 year extension.. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/leafs-at-whc-not-surprised-carlyle-will-be-back/
both could've said "no comment i'm on a quest for gold and i have tunnel vision for this goal and can't talk about side issues"
unlike many of our brethern elite in the advanced stats world Kadri and Rielly know how to skate.
Teemu Selanna becomes the 3rd oldest player in NHL history to score a playoff goal behind only Gordie Howe and Chris Chelios.

Hawks wild turning out to be another really good game.

I'm just gonna say, I'm from Pittsburgh, been watching the Penguins since '91 when I was 5, but this team has definitely been getting harder and harder to root for.
I've found Minnesota mostly fun to follow this playoffs.

I've found Minnesota mostly fun to follow this playoffs. Crosby doesn't have an ounce of likability. Yeah he is an amazing hockey player but he has no personality. He gives generic boring interviews often regurgitating the same crap every time.
On the ice he is a huge whiner. He bitches to officials constantly and throws temper tantrums in the penalty box or on the bench.
Minni is a great choice for following. To bad they lost tonight. I'm pulling for Anaheim because of Teemu Selanne. He's been my favorite player longer than I can remember and since he is retiring I want him to retire a cup champ.

The truth, as always, will lie somewhere in the middle. Sure, Subban makes mistakes in a game. And he is the type of player where those mistakes are going to be spectacular. So that one moment in a game is going to colour a person's entire assessment of him as a player. "He did something dumb, therefore he is overrated/a bum/cocky/french/whatever." But people who instead focus on the underlying numbers of Subban's play will see nothing but an absolutely dominant defenseman. Easily one of the most dominant in the game. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/OBEFs6Q.png) I'm sure people can guess which bubble represents Subban. It's the big-ass blue one. As usual, Subban doesn't get an easy ride and totally kills it. So he makes some mistakes. But that's part of his game. For every mistake he makes, he does two or three things that have a positive impact. He's an incredibly exciting player to watch and I love seeing defensemen take those kinds of risks when the end result is typically reward. As a fan, it makes the game much more entertaining than dump and chase, dump and chase, dump and chase. I wonder how many average, young defensemen are going to be making a lot of money they don't really deserve now thanks to Subban. Given his last few seasons, he might have scared a lot of GMs away from those 'bridge contracts', such as the one he received. In his case, he is going to cost the Habs a lot more money now than he would have had they purchased some free-agent years in his previous contract. I guess that's the risk you take - but anyone who follows Subban would say there was no risk in signing him long term a few years back. Sorry to rain on the Subban parade here, but I wouldn't call a corsi at 51% while not being top 2 in matchups on the team "not an easy ride and killing it." Norris trophy competing defensemen should see the toughest matchups and still do well (Like a Suter, Pietrangelo, Doughty, Karlsson, Weber), or do outstanding away from them (Duncan Kieth, although his matchups are a big knock against his case this year). Subban is obviously not an average defenseman, but his performance doesn't measure up with the top guys in the league. Again, I agree, this is why I rank him around 20th. I think team Canada got it right. He's for sure one of the top defenceman, But until he can clean up the mental errors he's not going to be trusted in the most important situations defensively compared to the true top dogs. Not saying he can't get there just saying he isn't there right now. Even right now if you were down a goal he would be one of the top 3 d man you would want on your team to generate offense. It's just that offense is not the most important thing to a DEFENSEman, which often the norris voters forget.
Defense is for pussies. GO OILERS

Isn't offense and goaltending also for pussies by Oilers standards?

**sigh** Watching that team play hockey actually does cause me mental pain and anguish. Think I could win a law suit or something?

Yeah, everyone knows the season ends with the draft lottery selection.

Also Carlyle. Dude knows how to make hockey teams worse - pay him!
![[image loading]](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BkJJqtXCYAIQlDh.png:large)
Carlyle hockey is to attempt zero forecheck and then back up to the red-line in order to allow the other team free zone-exists and establish an attack with minimal effort. That's good stuff, right there.

nice chart. almost all goals are scored with the goal scoring team possessing the puck.
you need talent to have a puck possessing team. don't reverse cause and effect. talent is a necessary condition to have a puck possession team.
non skeptical morons believing these charts would say Cherry and the Team Finland coach were lousy coaches because they didn't make their teams a puck possession team.
example, 1978-9 Montreal Canadiens. talent first... puck possession philosophy next. a more recent example was Finland v. Canada in the 2014 Olympics. Would Finland have loved to have been the dominant puck possession team in that game? of course they would. Canada has more talent .. so it don't matter what the coach's philosophy is.
Had Cherry coached the Bruins to "possess the puck" they would never ever come close to beating Montreal. they'd lose 4-0. Cherry did a great coaching job. Back today's NHL, the principles remain the same though.
Had Finland tried to play Canada's game they would've lost 8-3...instead the took it to overtime and lost 2-1.
the very best teams always play a puck possession game because they have the talent to do so. that has been going on since at least the Soviet Red Army and the 70s Montreal Canadiens. It probably goes on before that.
so far Carlyle has done a better job with the Leafs than Wilson. nice chart though.
onto the Coach's Corner Report.
Cherry showing us Daniel Bouchard's goal stick and how it would've prevented the Bruins first goal.
- very detailed look at one the Bruins set plays used to break out of their own endd and how it is failing tonight.
-Cherry raving about Johnathan Toews.
-No protection for Crosby.. and Ron agrees with grapes. Grapes thinks Crosby is taking way to many brutal shots. Take that you Crosby haters.
-Cherry ranting about the instigator.
My comments.
Crosby took a heavy heavy head shot... i wonder if he has a concussion and is not admitting it. Cherry has earlier remarked that Crosby's back might be fucked.
based on what i've seen in the Bruins v. Canadiens Series i'd say Subban is one of the top 5 best power play defensemen. he might even be the best.
Now on 5-on-5... PK Subban tries to do an end-to-end rush that eventually ends up in him taking a penalty. we all know Subban is a big Starcraft fan .. so i have this for him...
Hey PK.. its not 1971... and you ain't Bobby Orr... so when its 5 on 5 and every defender is in position... play ur own position.

Thank god that Pacioretty and Vanek line woke up today. Pretty good timing.

This Ducks Kings game is going great 8D

Holy shit. I can't believe so many series are going to Game 7 this year. I was SURE there would be tons of curbstomps, but almost all of the series have been really close and entertaining so far. This is GREAT!
