The thing is Jaedong opened with a completely standard build and was going to transition just fine into a regular build if his early lings didn't do much. Once he saw fantasy's position and the fact that he could do what he did, he instead decided to pump lings and keep the pressure on rather than just cutting ling production and continuing on with his regular build.

Game on Medusa, PL finals. Proxy rax + nat rax for a 2 rax mass marine rush. Is quite a cheese. One or two sunks and Zerg would be super ahead.
It was Boxer who came up with that build, and Fantasy even admitted that any terran on the team could have pulled it off.
Fantasy opens the same fact-wall in every time against zerg.

In the 4pool game, I noticed that once jaedong pushed in with more lings to take down the bunker, he started attacking fantasy's scv line first a bit before he went for the bunker. I'm wondering if that was to trick fantasy into not desperation running for the bunker and instead thinking that JD was just going for the scvs instead, so his lings could get over before the scvs did?
fantasy plays great normally, especially with build orders. i don't think he's formulaic at all - maybe in the past, but not recently. it's his reactions that seemed obviously lacking in this series.

u may have noticed fantasy going for a scv stack --> surround on the zerglings with like 3 or 4 of the scvs. that may have given JD the split second he needed to surround the bunker

Hey dude there were no mind games at all. If you survive a 4pool you defend, can it be easier? You have a vulture coming, how hard is it to defend ur bunker til then? Fantasy is just greedy
